JLM “The premise is okay if not already overdone by many other authors. But way too many discrepancies and editing errors…so many that they interfered with getting into the story. Lone wolf FBI agent on a stake out of a kidnapper, all by herself, at night, and oops…forgot to charge the ol’ cell phone. Then it’s mentioned that she is driving her personal vehicle so no radio to call for backup. Guess the FBI hasn’t heard of portable radios…But later, as she is getting reamed by the obligatory butt head boss…he says she wrecked a government issue vehicle…not her personal ride. Then,of course, the whole dropping her gun thing…it’s probably still out there somewhere along the highway. And then she does it again! Drops her gun again while in pursuit of a suspect!?? Come on…. Then, while searching for someone in the Wyoming/Montana area, the address that is given to her is for Warm Springs….okay, but don’t include the abbreviation for Arkansas with it! Then the whole “low fuel” light during a chase but after just missing a huge accident when she didn’t notice all the brake lights on the highway, they then continue driving for quite a distance looking for dinner with no fuel stops along the way. Way too many editing misses…I didn’t keep count but at least four or five “and’s” where it should have been an “an” . Maybe I’m too nit-picky but if you want me to pay good money for a book, it needs to be a little better than this. I will probably skip the sequels…you should probably have another set of eyes (or two or three)go over the manuscript before publishing. Just a thought.”

I read the second book first. It was great! And then I realised that I also have the first book. This book was good, too.
I don’t know if there is a third book but if there is, you know what I’ll be reading next.
Rylie Wolf is not a people person. She goes after the perps with everything she’s got. No time for eating or sleeping. The faster she works, the more people she saves. And she doesn’t hesitate to step on people’s toes. She believes that she works best alone. Partners only slow her down. However the FBI doesn’t seem to agree with her, because they assign her a partner. And he believes you need to eat and sleep or you are not at your best. He also believes that being friendly bears rewards. Can two people be more different?
These differences make for a lively book. They not only have to catch a serial killer, they need to learn to work with each other.”
