Read in the Dark
Very little progress

I like the characters but struggle to connect. And very little happened from start to finish except some character drama. Literally, she graduates her academy, gets her first assignment, meets all the guys (and a friend), and makes minimal progress figuring out her case. She decides all the guys can be friends and maybe she’ll tell then about the case. Sinister mystery killer talks at the end and kills most all remaining mystery. Exit stage left as the lights dim… and there’s the whole book, minus details about all the supporting characters and such. Maybe if you’ve lived the ballet life and want to reminisce on old catty people you used to know, you may enjoy this book. I was left unsatisfied from a promising storyline.

Fabulous!! Definitely a unique story in a world of dance and intrigue. I wasn’t too sure what I was going to see in this book but I was drawn in the moment I started this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat as the drama and tension built. The romance is slow burn but I love how we are getting to know the characters and the history of the ballet. Fantastic!! I can’t wait for the next book!! 💜🖤

Slow burn mystery and romance

This book wasn’t what I expected. I’m getting the impression that the ballet case will be Beyla’s 1st and only case. In this book, she starts putting together what little information she finds. We also meet the four men that I assume will make up the start of her harem. This is for sure a slow burn, not even one kiss. Everyone in the friend zone for now. There were a few typos and the story was just a tad boring at times but overall worth the read.

I danced ballet for 12 1/2 years and absolutely love it. So to find a book that had ballet set in a paranormal world with RH, crime, and drama all mixed together? I was excited. But not only does it have everything I love in it, it’s well written, believable, and intriguing. I cannot wait for the second book to come out! I’m so happy I stumbled across this book. 😍

Ballet lovers should read

I am not a lover of ballet, but that did not keep me from reading this book. I really wanted this book to be so much better than what it was. I am still debating on whether I will read the next in the series, or go on to something else. The characters were great and so is the story. There needed to be a lot more editing done. Some sentences were lacking words to become a full sentence. Overall, it was just an okay book.

I really enjoyed the dance aspect of this. I told my husband it’s like undercover supernatural police officer as a ballet dancer at a supernatural ballet. Which is pretty concise to it tbh. I enjoyed it very much with all the breadcrumbs. Can’t wait to pick up book 2. Excellent read!
