The Authors

In January 2021, Shari Low celebrated 20 years as a best selling novelist. In that time and since, she has published over 30 books, including My One Month Marriage, One Day In Summer, One Summer Sunrise, The Story Of Our Secrets and her non-fiction collection of parenthood memories, Because Mummy Said So.

In late 2020, her first novel, What If? (originally published in 2001) was updated and re-released and became a best seller. In January 2021, the sequel, What Now? was released and joined What If? on the best-seller charts.

In real life, once upon a time she met a guy, got engaged after a week, and twenty-something years later she lives near Glasgow with her husband and a labradoodle. Her two teenagers have now left home, so she spends an inordinate amount of time on video calls checking if they’re eating well and keeping up to date with their laundry.

Wonderful Story!

This is such a beautiful story… I enjoyed every page. Just when I would start reaching for a tissue, Shari would interject some hysterically funny anecdote or remark that had me laughing out loud. (As only Shari Low can do). Like a “spoonful of sugar,” it helped me get through the sad parts and move on to enjoy the storyline. I think this book is right up there among my favorites by this talented author. Such a cozy group of lifelong friends…at times shallow and other times wonderfully kind and loving, (aren’t we all?), which made their characters real for me. Simply heartfelt and beautifully written story! Can’t wait for the next one.

Will I ever be able to read a book that Shari Low writes where I don’t cry?
Being human & with faults just isn’t easy. This group of friends though are very lucky. They still have each other through it all.
I enjoyed how everyone’s best & worst trait was out there for all to see. That’s what friends are for.

Amazing Book

I loved this book. What an interesting cast of characters. I loved them , flaws and all. Colms sense of humor Shauna’s big heart. Lu Lu’s antics. There was love grief sadness humor. Gran was fabulous. You had to love her character. Mostly there was a great group of friends that loved each other. It had everything, much like Forrest Gump.

Shari Low has a way of describing characters and events so you feel you are there. Loved getting to know this quirky group of friends. Anyone who likes reading about ordinary people facing every day problems with spirit and humor should enjoy this book.
