Great For Kids, Not For Teens or Older

This is a wonderful art journal for your favorite 9-year-old. A really talented preteen or a high school student may not be pleased. The reason for the low rating is because it truly was not marketed properly for what it is. Some children would love it, and girls would probably appreciate it at older ages (10 to 12 or so) than boys (definitely age 9 or 10). It might be perfect for the right child, so be sure to take a good look before buying.

Good idea

I need prompts about things to sketch or draw. It does that, but it is printed on normal paper. Works good with crayons, colored pencils, colored regular ink pens (no felt tips,) and ok with graphite pencils. Not good for charcoal, markers, watercolor media. I added mixed media paper pad to my backpack when killing time with my art journal (prompt) book. I would buy again, but hopeful there is a sequel next year with better paper.

It’s a nice book, and some art journals are focused on drawing, but not mine. I was hoping for something to entice me back into art journaling on a regular basis, but this isn’t going to do it. Drawing isn’t really my thing. I wish the description had conveyed that information better.
