Editors be shamed

Although wonderfully organized and appears to contain endless information; the book is filled with errors and omissions. I find this to be the case in many DK Publishing books.
Example: The entirety of New England and New Brunswick are omitted on the range map for Moose. Maine and New Brunswick are omitted in the map for the striped skunk. Coyotes are only shown in the extreme north of Maine. The above region is far as I read the book. How does one trust any of the info in the book? Never a fan of DK. Solidified now. They’re kind of the junk food of books.

Wonderful color photos and interesting details
August 21, 2020

I bought this book as a birthday gift for my wife, who loves animals. She is thrilled it and has been looking through it every day, reading about animals she never heard of, and learning facts about a wide range of mammals, amphibians and others. The photographs are beautiful and really show the animals in all of their majesty. The cats, in particular, look terrific. Many of the photos feature animals staring directly into the camera, which allows you to see into the soul of the creature.

Because of my wife’s enthusiasm, I’ve checked the book out myself and have thoroughly enjoyed learning about both the most common and the rarest creatures on the planet.

GREAT book for nature lover!
December 19, 2021

My granddaughter is 6, a nature lover and a good reader for her age. She LOVES this book so much that she checked it out from the library over and over again—so I decided to buy it for her for Christmas so she could have her own. It’s a BIG book—thick heavy with a lot of pages like a coffee table book. If you have a nature lover, I highly recommend this book. It’s also a pretty good value for such a nice book.

I write honest reviews to help others make informed purchases because I read reviews myself and appreciate how helpful they can be. I hope that my review helped you!

Nephew loved it!
July 20, 2020

My nephew is 6yrs old and a wiz at recognizing all kinds of animals from all regions, he’s learned about watching various streaming programs (WildKratz especially). This puts the animals all at his fingertips and it was so great seeing his eyes light up at the wonderful images and additional information the book offers. Beautiful hardcopy.

A perfect book if you have curious children

Love the book!
So many beautiful photos of animals and each entry includes information on just how much that species is endangered. A perfect book if you have a curious child that loves to learn about the animals.
The book is thick and heavy and not really suited for children to “operate” but it is worth every penny!
