I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book!!! I knew after reading the first page it was going to be great! I believe this may be the first book I’ve read by Freida McFadden but it certainly won’t be the last! I highly recommend reading this if you haven’t yet! It’s an amazing psychological thriller with quite a few laughs along the way. My favorite kind of book!! I absolutely LOVED it! Such a very talented author! I can’t wait to read more from her!
HITCHCOCKIAN THRILLER

Quinn kills her husband & goes on the run. If she hadn’t killed him, he would have killed her. His fingers wrapped tightly around her neck. That was the last straw. She flailed around until she was able to grab the knife on the kitchen counter.
She has no idea where she’s going. She doesn’t have a well thought out plan. An unexpected blizzard forces her off the road. She stops (for the night) at an out-of-the-way roadside motel. It’s the perfect place to hide out. As soon as the police discover the body, they’ll be looking for her.
She needs to get back on the road, but two feet of snow fell during the night & she can’t go anywhere. She’s snowed in until the plow comes. The motel isn’t a safe haven. An Internet search reveals it has quite a dark & disturbing history. Two years ago, a young woman was murdered in her room. They never found out who did it.
Kudos to the author – ALL of my assumptions were wrong! BUT, I did NOT enjoy the huggy-kissy, lovey-dovey aspects of the book. I’m just not a fan of interjecting romance into a thriller.

Some authors have the winning recipe for writing great thrillers. The stories are gripping and keep the reader intrigued and turning pages. The twists when then they come are surprising but not implausible and the pace of revealing information is on point. Freida McFadden remains one of my favourite authors for ticking all these boxes and Do Not Disturb, her latest thriller does not disappoint. Quinn arrives home early and surprises her good-looking, super rich but equally cruel husband who was expecting to meet up with someone else in their home. They get into a physical altercation and she stabs him. Without thinking things through she goes on the run during a very bad snow storm and thus begins a fast, fabulous story. 5 Stars.

This story begins moments after Quinn murdered her husband in their home. She can’t drag his much larger corpse around anywhere to hide it which means she must run. She packs a bag, gets in her car, and does just that. She chops off her hair with plans to dye it, pulls as much cash as she can from an ATM, ditches her cell phone, and drives away. The problem is, she murdered her husband while a blizzard was brewing and driving in such conditions quickly become impossible. So, Quinn stops at the next run-down, inconspicuous highway motel she sees. And then the story really begins . . .
This is McFadden’s best writing yet. The voice in her narration is fabulous. I quickly come to know Quinn, understand her, and feel every aching moment she goes through. But it’s not just the main character who gets phenomenally cast and developed. Everyone is intriguing, complex, likeable (at least in some ways), and oh so real. These folks drive this eerie, goosebump-inducing, hair-raising, mysterious, and suspenseful tale. The Baxters give off a strong Bates vibe that I absolutely LOVED. The setting was mostly secondary–East coast suburbia in the winter–until we reach the motel. Then every piece is part of a twisted and ominous puzzle
