The Authors
Agapi Stassinopoulos was born and raised in Athens, Greece. At age 18, she entered the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and afterward became a member of the Young Vic. She moved to the United States to do film and television, and later attended the University of Santa Monica, where she completed her Master’s in Psychology. While her sister, Arianna Huffington, was doing research for her book about Greek mythology, Agapi’s love for the gods and goddesses was ignited and led to two books of her own – ‘Conversations with the Goddesses’ and ‘Gods and Goddesses in Love – ‘ as well as a one-woman show and a PBS special. She also coproduced and cohosted a documentary called ‘Quest for the Gods,’ shot on location in Greece. Agapi has been invited to speak at various international events and global conferences, and has also spoken about health and well-being for The Spirit of Women organization, which represents hundreds of hospitals around the country. An inspiring teacher, Agapi conducts seminars worldwide for both men and women, empowering them to recognize their individual gifts and create the lives they want. Full of love, passion, honesty and Spirit. A luscious read.

This book was, to me, like floating on a cloud, weightless and flowing free with pure luscious love surrounding me. OK, if that sounds a bit much, be assured it is as close as I could come to the pleasure of reading this book. Lying in bed it was as though my eyes had their own life, riveted to the pages and reaching for more. Using the book to fall asleep simply didn’t work.Unbinding the Heart Agapi Stassinopoulos PDF
It is about life. Hers, but it could as well be yours. I kept bringing mine into it with perfect flow, as though that was the plan. My mind rushed around the stories as though they were mine, seeking and discovering awakenings from each one for myself.. It’s exhilarating to be puled into the inner adventure with such rich deliciousness. You never want her or her stories to end. There’s no teaching or preaching since it isn’t about you. Except that it is. Her stories and thoughts seep into you like the sun on the earth.
Just let yourself go. Pick up the book and purely enjoy. Agapi means unconditional love. And that’s what it left me with.

Agapi in Greek means unconditional love, and that is what you will feel when you read this memoir. The author’s love for life, and for helping others jumps off the pages as she entertains and enlightens with her insight and subtle humor. Agapi Stassinopoulos is the real deal. She writes of how she learned to live with an open heart with pointed authenticity. Reading this memoir you will feel as though she has invited you to sit with her awhile under the shade of an umbrella at one of those beautiful outdoor cafes in Santorini, nibbling on fresh feta and tomatoes, sipping a glass of wine, with that magical blue of the Aegean as a backdrop. I suggest you take her invitation and read the stories of her journey thus far. You will not be disappointed.

It’s one of those books you just can’t put down. Agapi is an amazing, amazing writer. I loved reading this book, for many reasons. One of those reasons is that it read like a novel, instead of being preachy, or a boring non-fiction, or a book with a few tools on how to live life listed. Instead, Agapi had to go inside, I am sure, to her own soul and unbind her own heart to find the wisdom in her experience . In that way, it took me into my own life, needing to place forgiveness and more laughter and joy in the learnings that were bestowed as well on me. In addition, the writing is excellent! The words flow so well in description and each sentence found its way into my own heart. It’s a gift to read, a gift to give to others and beautiful, and sometimes funny laugh at ourselves, or a cry of tenderness as we can all relate. She brought home learnings as well that I can use. It’s a thoroughly human, thoroughly loving, contribution to all of us. I LOVED IT!!

This was a lovely book; it allowed us to see into the heart of the writer and share with her her thoughts, emotions, and the trials in her life. I sent a copy to my teen-age granddaughter because I felt she could relate to the growing-up years of the author and recognize that no matter who we are, where we grow up, or what we do with our lives we share a common bond of humanity that helps us to carry on in life with grace and love knowing that we have the strength and courage to persevere and choose the life we want to live.

Agapi-mou, a day ago I finished your book in my dentist’s office in Utah. The dentist came in the room at that moment and I didn’t even try to hide my tears. I just said, “my friend has written this most beautiful book. It can touch many people and be a best-seller.” I think the book and your rich sharing would touch anyone, yet knowing you and the family over the years made the depth of your sharing your experiences that much more profound.
I rejoice at your the colorful, senusal way that you so beautifully and heartfully expressed the odessey of your life. You transformed your experience into loving, gratitude and creativity delighting the readers of your book with revealing moments from your life. I loved the way that you weren’t afraid to be vulnerable and moved to the learning with each “revealing.” You honored Elli and your Dad and shared their originality and humanity. Elli was such a teacher of how to live life listening to one’s own drumbeat. And what a force of nature she was….is. She came so alive on the pages. And the power of forgiveness, how it weaved through the book so seamlessly. Personally, the chapter on “It Is Done!” had a particularly profound resonance for me.
