Holy smokes was that a hot read 🔥 🥵 🔥

I’ll admit I was sold on this book by the cover alone (yes, I’m that shallow 😁). Then I read the blurb and knew this was right up my alley…and this book did not disappoint!

The overall story is amazing, focusing on a Secret Society where it’s members are groomed and initiated during their college years. Fair warning, their initiations are dark and intense but I loved every minute of it.

Which brings us to Ryat, who is most definitely my type of “Hero”. For lack of a better word/phrase he is clearly top of his “class”, and his ruthlessness is evident throughout the book. He’s hot, manipulative and oh so perfectly jealous and possesive. The type of guy who burns an outfit for being to revealing and then “punishes” you for wearing it 🥵.

Blakely is our equally gorgeous heroine who unfortunately has zero control over her life. Every decision in her past, present and future has already been decided and she is desperate to live her life for her. She needs an escape, a chance to finally be herself and embrace her deepest, darkest desires and Ryat is just the man to give it to her. He knows exactly what she needs. He just has to show her she can more than take it 🔥 🔥 🔥

Definitely a great read and I’m really hoping there will be more books with some of the other members.

Well, that was bananas. And dark. And twisted. And so deliciously sexy AND swoony all at once. Yet another addictive and unpredictable story from the inventive and always entertaining Shantel Tessier.

Go in blind- just be warned- triggers abound! Prepare to be consumed by Ryat and Blakely’s toxic complicated relationship- they are erotically captivating, perfectly matched, dynamic and perplexing. It’s a love story that works for only them- one born out of physically obsession that deepens amidst a dark and twisted society setting. There are some unique dynamics to their relationship- and not just the Ritual/society/ownership elements, either. The book is on the longer side- and Shantel writes in short spurts with her POVs- at times that worked to really capture, at others it left me craving to dig into moments or pysche a bit more deeply, but ultimately it was a wild ride that I enjoyed immensely.

If you like your books extra steamy, the relationships to start heavily physically, and the chemistry to be centered around possession and kink alignment, Ryan and Blakely will burn up your kindle! Of course, along the way we do get a bit more emotional complexity to their dynamic, but this is not a touchy or emotively centered relationship- it’s mean to be evocative and provocative, and that it is. Definitely sexy, definitely taboo.
