 Quite Captivating! (Great Read)

I had the opportunity to hear Michele speak at the DRJ Conference and was fascinated with her level of knowledge and passion for Business Continuity and Resilience. While scrolling through my LinkedIn feed, I saw Michele’s post about her book, Lessons Learned: Short Stories of Continuity and Resilience. I immediately purchase a copy on . I started reading with the impression that it would be a book outlining business lessons learned. But to my amusement, it was more than I expected. I was blown away by Michele’s level of vulnerability to tell her personal stories by showing how it relates to continuity and resilience from a personal and professional standpoint. I would highly recommend this book to every business professional as this was a great read and offered a plethora of business strategies. I even shared the book with my colleague and we discuss each chapter at our weekly check-ins. The seamless delivery and forward-thinking approach were captivating and quite inspiring. I am happy to add this to my collection. Well done!

This is book of personal and professional experiences woven together to not only define Continuity & Resilience but how they apply to the experience of life and family!
I could not put the book down until I read the final page. As a seasoned professional in the BCDR industry I now have a revitalized look to PARSE. Outstanding work by the author to clearly align her life’s seasons with her life’s passion for Business Continuity encouraging readers to stay open minded for all life has to offer… I would recommend to Business Continuity students and those with decades of experience!

Great book for all security and business continuity professionals

This is an interesting and educational book. The author wrote this book from her personal life experiences and her 30+ years as one of the best subject matter experts in business continuity and workplace resiliency. I recommend this book to every organization, government and private sector alike, to augment their existing knowledge of risks, threats and vulnerabilities. The author applied PARSE methodology in each chapter which is quite easy to follow and every component is evident throughout the book in the form of best practices that we all can relate to. These lessons learned are presented in a storytelling format that makes it very easy to digest unlike other security/business continuity handbooks that can be quite technical. Highly recommended!!!

This easy read provides details on how you can drive your Business Continuity Program. Michele’s transparency is sobering. Reading this book reminded me of Brene Browns Ted Talk on Vulnerability. Brene mentioned people are waiting for companys to say ” Im sorry, It’s broke I’ll fix it”. Michele is the business continuity expert who has the solutions. The book made me laugh, reflect, cry, and feel inspired. Michele provides a programmatic perspective on how work and family co-exist. The content is applicable for anyone serving in a support role.
