Nice little book. I like this series. This little graphic guides are pretty scholarly. They obviously won’t make you an expert on anything, but they are nice for giving orientations / outlines

Not a starting point. If want a comic-book starting point, use the classic two book volumes by Yoram Bauman and Grady Klein: http://www.online store.com/gp/product/0809094819/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_55 and http://www.online store.com/gp/product/0809033615/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_53.) Near the end, the material is treated with increasing brevity and less clarity (or at least the what the implications are of the theory.)

This series is a good one, and this book is a good overview of the concepts, history, and ideas of capitalism. The reason for the 3 star rating is the author’s opinion comes through too much. This isn’t normally a problem for me, but in this book it felt like it was mostly criticism of capitalism and explanations of why socialism is better.
There are many things they could have spent more time on, like Fujiyama or the other modern capitalist theories. But instead we got a lot of focus on Marx.
Overall it’s worth a read, (free if you are a Prime member) but it’s not the best in the series.
Excellent way for learning basic capitalism in today’s World.

As Venezuelan I find this book essential to understand the problems of today’s societies in developing countries. Education on economy is key to understand why our countries are still “poor” and how it is possible to find the tools, tools that this book outlines along with historical information for not committing the same mistakes that current rich countries did in the past. Despite the different inconvenient issues capitalism could face, it is by far the best system for creating wealth.

These graphic guides helped me to write my dissertation, even though one can’t cite these introductory books for an essay at that level, it made the theories easier to understand and enabled finding a citation for quoting easier.

A thoroughly enjoyable romp through the history and concepts of capitalism. The idea of the ‘spectacular’ I found particularly interesting and I may read more on this. This the second in this series of books that I’ve read, the first being the introduction to Marxism and I think this dovetails really well with it. To quote Zappa, “So many books, so little time”.
