*Spoiler Alert* Don’t read this if you want to discover the awfulness on your own

Wow. I have read some real crap in my time but nothing to compare to this book. What really makes me furious is that the crap doesn’t enter the picture until the last quarter of the book. You come to learn about the characters, Red Mountain and winemaking. Every one is falling in love and making plans for the future. All of a sudden everyone is cheating on their partners with other characters. The only couple not cheating is still dealt a devastating blow.

The sick part of the end is that everyone (except the one couple) winds up staying together. These are morally corrupt, self-centered adults who in two instances are raising children. It is the children who uncover all the cheating and make the adults fess up. At the end everyone forgives the cheaters when they say, “I’m not perfect”. Even the kids seem alright with know lingering problems or doubts. The sickness grows when one of the good characters is in jeopardy and may die as the book ends! Its a fricken cliffhanger. Uggh.

I feel cheated of the hours I invested in the first 3/4 of the book. I will never read this author’s books again.

Ugh! I started out not invested in these characters, but as the book went on that changed. I started caring about some of the characters in this book only to be left hanging at the end. Be warned that you are left not knowing what happens to a couple of the main characters at the end. I hate when novels do not explain what happens to their characters at the end and leave you with everything unanswered! There are a bunch of weird sexual affairs between all these characters on Red Mountain and the ending is a huge disappointment! I am not sure why this book received so many good reviews. Huge disappointment!!

The dirty joke ruined an otherwise entertaining story

I got the book expecting a nice, entertaining story, until I got to the filthy joke. It was unexpected, and unappreciated. I read two more pages before closing the book forever. If there is one, there’s likely more. I removed 3 stars for that. I was so disgusted I won’t be reading this author again.
There were too many characters as well, but I was willing to keep reading since the characters were well drawn and entertaining. I took 1 star for that.
