 The plot isn’t advancing

April 8, 2022The story is well-written, but the main plot isn’t advancing. The MC is still in the same place the were several books back mentally and only advanced a couple levels. It has become a bit repetitive.

Great, right until the incredibly stupid ending

April 9, 2022

Several big plusses:
Phrasing humor is not excessive
Significantly fewer typos then normal for author
Focuses in on on fewer characters, which page count can support this time
Plotline sorta progress for first time in ages
Bad:
Missing and/or extra words are common, as are random characters.
Still more of a web novel / slice of life then novel structure, so pacing is shot
What should have been a side character is evidently more politically powerful then anyone in either series.
Forced confrontation with said side character and into to him made zero sense.
Plot put on hold for at least one more book to deal with new BS
Without the insanity of last few pages I’d give it 4 stars for a KU title. A poorly written ending ruins a book for me though.

Stop with the side quests already!

April 8, 2022

Please, stop with the side quests and advance the storyline a bit, While I’m a fan of both of the authors vuldranni series their plots haven’t moved forward in ages ! I realize that one can only write so much, so it gets frustrating when it seems like the story isn’t being moved forward. At least this series (The Good Guys) has some forward momentum with this book. Saying that, the author delivers another fine tale in the saga.

Everything you could want and more

April 8, 2022

Zany, funny, random Clerks references, and a plot that finally gets back on track (mostly 😂). Basically all the things I found frustrating finally started getting solved. Montana isn’t as stupid, more backstory from earth, more plot, but it did not sacrifice the jokes or gratuitous violence. A return of the best Good guys has to offer!

 I Love These Books…But

April 9, 2022

I really hate the stupidity of Montana. The author just seems to keep beating a dead horse trying to drum up laughs or chuckles with the hero getting stuck in ridiculous situations. Situations that no one, not even some of the more epic Darwin Award Winners could accomplish. Read it because of the other books in the series but unless you are really emotionally invested in Montana I would say give it a pass and wait for the next Clyde Hatchett book.

An exceptional and incredibly entertaining read

January 13, 2022

I don’t know what universe I was living in that I still hadn’t experienced Lucy Score’s writing. I am over the moon after finishing this book. This was an exceptional story filled with heart, humour, and heat that had me laughing and smiling my way through. I loved the characters, the animosity and bickering, the tension and angst, the emotion and drama, and the building love between two stubborn and determined characters. This checked every box of things I love about romance.

From Naomi and Knox’s first encounter it was hate at first sight. These two didn’t get off on the right foot at all. But boy, did sparks fly! Naomi and Knox had so much sexual tension and the heat between them was scorching. I loved their witty banter and how they got under each other’s skin. There was an excellent build to their developing relationship with off the charts sexual tension happening. I loved Naomi and Knox’s vulnerable moments and when they opened up and shared as well. I loved their struggle and conflict as they got closer and more emotion came into play. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for them to get together.

This was an incredibly entertaining read and the writing was exceptional. A laugh out loud story that made my reader heart happy. There were so many wonderful secondary characters in the mix that made it feel rich and full, and it was these characters that helped to create so many fun and meaningful scenes. There was so much great attention to detail throughout and I loved how some things came full circle at the end making it that much more significant.

This is one of those books I started reading and everything immediately clicked for me. Humour and heart with a fantastic amount of sexiness mixed in. I just had a blast reading this and losing myself in Naomi and Knox’s story. The slow burn in this book was tantalisingly exceptional and made my heart extremely happy. The Things We Never Got Over is officially a new favourite, and I really hope this is the start of a new series!
