Wildly expensive recipes

HEARTBREAKINGLY UNREALISTIC ADVICE. Recipes generally cost from $50-100 to buy flours, aminos, stevia and other ingredients for a SINGLE recipe for a SINGLE meal or a SINGLE dessert at April 2022 Midwestern grocery prices. I checked. What would ingredients cost on the coasts?
Sadly his dietary advice is good and worth considering. But no one I know has the time or kitchen space to store five flours plus and several sweeteners and types of coconut. And more.
Deeply disappointing read.
There must be a way to eat wisely without spending a fortune. This book targets people with unlimited resources and an excellent private chef to track down the ingredients and prepare his recipes.
Perhaps he will find a way for real people to cook smart in the future. I wish him well. He has a lot to say worth the reader’s consideration.

I love this cookbook!

You know how you go through a new cookbook and attach sticky notes or tags to the pages with recipes you want to try? Well, I started doing that, and I soon realized I was marking every single recipe. Every one of them. The recipes are that good. I have some food sensitivities and generally eat a version of Paleo, which means that about half the recipes in most cookbooks, even the healthy ones, are out of bounds for me or just plain unappetizing. Not so with this cookbook. The recipes are astounding, and most are fairly easy. I also appreciate the wealth of information the book contains on oils, fats, nuts, salt, etc. Thank you, Max Lugavere!

The best cookbook to start (or continue) your health journey!

Max’s cookbook is heartfelt, easy to read, and is loaded with great information to start or continue your health journey. My favorite thing about it is that I don’t have to question or substitute ingredients, as Max has already found the best and has done it with care. With that being said, most, if not all ingredients used, are easily found at just about any store. Even if you live in a semi-food desert, like me.
Did I mention all the recipes I have tried so far have been delicious! I’m excited to try the rest and share them with my family.
Excellent cookbook. will be used many times and given a special place on my “favorite cookbooks” shelf!

As someone who doesn’t really buy cookbooks I wasn’t initially keen to get this but being gluten (gf) and dairy free (df) I was massively in need of inspiration. Cue Genius kitchen, the book is pretty much entirely gf/df, is full of great information on food and has some great kitchen tips. The recipes are easy to follow (you don’t need 25 ingredients for each dish and hours of preparation time). It is the perfect book for anyone who wants healthy delicious food and easy enough to pull together during the week. Also bonus points for a lot of the recipes being low carb for stable blood sugar responses. This cookbook is a kitchen essential. Kudos to Max Lugavere who appears to be quite the genius in the kitchen.
*updated with photos of some of the recipes I’ve made from the book (p218, 190, 125). The recipe doesn’t call for the soup to be blended but to me it’s a must as it really elevates the flavors. All super delicious.

Eat Like a Genius!

Genius Kitchen takes the best of Max’s knowledge and puts it into actionable steps with the abundance of simple, but delicious nutrient dense recipes. If you’ve read Genius Foods and Genius Life, you’ll love Genius Kitchen. If not, this is a great place to get acquainted with Max’s work! What I love most about the content of this book is that Max provides the “why” behind each intentionally chosen ingredient and the way each recipe is constructed. It’s the perfect combination of nutrition science and fun, approachable recipes with a touch of Max’s personal connections to the material. I’ve especially enjoyed the roasted broccoli with shallot and bonito, bangin’ chicken liver, and blueberry lemon tart, and can’t wait to cook my way through the rest of the recipes. Will absolutely be recommending this book to my nutrition clients and purchasing as gifts for friends and family!
