This was a fun and quick read for me. I’ve been a long time fan of Janet Evanovich and The Recovery Agent stays true to her style.

Almost as addicting as Stephanie and Lula and more entertaining than Diesel.
Definitely worth your time and I am already anxious for the second book.

Not Stephanie Plum but Good

Janet Evanovich has a new series and The Recovery Agent is an excellent start. Gabriela Rose is a Recovery Agent. She specializes in finding things, mainly for insurance companies looking for insurance fraud.

Gabriella’s grandmother Franny has told Gabriella that a ghost named Annie, a long lost relative has told Franny that they need to find the Ring of Solomon to help save their town of Scoon. There’s only one problem, the map to aid in Gabriella’s search for the ring happens to be hidden in her ex-husband, Rafer’s home. Together the two go on a wild hunt across several different countries in hopes of securing the ring. Another problem, they are not the only two looking for the ring. A very dangerous man who calls himself El Dragon also wants the ring because he believes it will give him the power to bring to life a demon army.The Recovery Agent A Novel PDF

This story is fast paced and an easy read. Evanovich does a great job as always with creating a wonderful storyline while always teasing at sexual tension between her lead protagonist and interesting characters. Thrills, twists and turns abound.

Brand new action series

Brand new action series by Janet Evanovich and read by the fabulous Lorelei King. Anything narrated by Lorelei King is going to be entertaining. Gabriela Rose is a recovery agent with multiple skills. Traveling deep into the jungle to recover valuable lost treasure in no problem for her. Encountering drug runners and wizards, also not a problem. Teaming up with her ex-husband – that could be problematic. Time flies when you are listening to this book. Looking forward to the next one in the series.

Disappointing

I was really eager to read the first in a new series from this author since I love her Stephanie Plum books, so this one was quite a letdown for me.

I found that this novel read like a 2nd or 3rd draft, not a finished book. The female lead wasn’t fleshed out enough and most of the detail and descriptive passages applied only to the various weapons used. Even Evanovich’s trademark wacky comedy was muted to the point where I found nothing more than mildly amusing.

Maybe instead of churning out so many books, this author should go back to concentrating on producing solid entertainment
