Perfeft book for a med student

Absolutely perfect if you’ve also got the handbook of clinical medicine. Between the two they basically cover most of the med school curriculum. Use this along side NICE CKS, BMJ best practice and passmed and you’re sorted.

Very useful for medical students

Pretty much a must-have for medical students having clinical placements, great summaries of all the most important conditions within numerous clinical specialties. Got delivered in perfect condition.

Not good enough for grad school

Incredibly detailed in some areas, but woefully deficient in others. I’ve spent hours writing in bony landmarks, small arteries, and various nerves.

These are anatomical paintings and therefore do not contain the level of detail I hoped for. If you have a Netter’s atlas and you like it, this should be fine for you. If you own a different atlas, this will be a step down for you. I regret not getting the flashcards that match my preferred atlases, Atlas of Anatomy and Rohen’s Photographic Anatomy.

These will not be sufficient for PA/Medical school. Undergrad A&P only.

Confusing categorization

Wonderful drawings! Netter nails it in that regard, but most A&P classes and books are organized by system. These cards are organized by area of the body which makes it very hard to find what you’re looking for when following a standard A&P class by body system. For example, if you want the cards on the skeletal system, you do not have a section for that, instead you have to sort through every card to pull out the skeletal cards from each section (head, upper extremity, lower extremity, lower extremity, etc…)

Made to make money

I wasn’t sure so I bought these and the one of Gray’s. Both are from the same Publisher and almost Identical from the Material. I soon realized that the cards were made to sell, not to be really helpfull. The publisher obviously took care of making the cards not too good so that the (more expensive) atlas wouldn’t become redundant. Only a few, not all (not even all important!) of the structures seen on a card are pointed out. They left out major plates and features enteriely.

The Netter Atlas contains rougly 10-20% more Structures then the Grays for Students Book. Anyways, the Grays Cards have MUCH more Structures pointed out then the Netter Cards. I would recommend to buy Grays Cards if you really want cards (even though you use the Netter Book)
