Colored the first page with 520 set of Brutfuner oily pencils. This book has intricate and interesting designs to color. Will color front to back. Mythographic fb group has many people coloring in this book. Can use any medium on the one sided paper. No hidden objects! Love the book!

Best Mythographic BY FAR

This is the first Mythographic book that I’ve purchased. It’s by far the best one. I don’t mind detail but most of the pages are SO busy. Not just detailed but the composition of the pages didn’t make any sense and didn’t appeal to me. And a lot of the things that were on the oafe weren’t related. And it was made worse by the hidden objects.
I am SO glad they got rid of the hidden objects! It improves the images dramatically.
The composition is still a little busy but dramatically improved. There’s detailed and then there is not being able to tell what an object is, or where it starts. Tomoslav Tomic and Kerby Rosanes are detailed. The older Mythographic books are busy. This one is vastly improved. And I’m very excited about the new releases that are lined up. They’re all hidden object free!
I really like the size of the book. Plenty of pages but not overwhelmingly so. The size of the paper makes the images manageable and easy to tackle. The paper is wonderful for watercolor with light water, real brush pens, markers (alcohol or water based), watercolor pencils or Neocolor etc. So long as you use a blotter page or remove from the book you’ll have a blast playing with mediums in this. The paper is smooth enough that wet mediums and markers apply beautifully but also my quick pencil test showed that I had no issues with oil or wax. If I find later after I finish 1 or 2 pages that I have any issues I will update. Bit I’ve always heard the best things about Mythographic paper.
The line art in this one is really nice. It’s light enough that bold lines won’t interrupt your picture. Smaller and lighter lines are used to show details and lines that are a tint bit thicker help to denote the outside hard lines of the objects themselves. I think this is the best way to listen to your customers and the best new direction for these books. I’m so excited for the next few releases. I didn’t preorder this book but once I saw how improved it is I pre-ordered the other new ones releasing this year and even in Jan 2023.
Anyway I think the general consensus of this one will be great and i don’t think it’ll be a disappointing to the vest majority of people.

Finally..no hidden objects

These pages are awesome. I love all the detail Joseph C. puts into his work. More than anything, so glad they finally listened and took out the hidden objects from the book. They always took away from the drawing itself. Thank you.

…without the not-so-hidden items. I told myself I wasn’t going to get any more Mythographic coloring books because I couldn’t stand the ugly hidden items. I felt it looked like garbage strewn around an otherwise gorgeous drawing.
I read that Joseph Catimbang was coming out with a book that had no hidden items, so I hesitantly pre-ordered the book. I am so very glad I did. Joseph has a whimsical quirky style that appeals to me. I cannot wait to color in this book.

This book is the most detailed, imaginative and just darling coloring book I’ve seen in a very long time. Often I buy a nice book and then I realize there are maybe 5 pages at most. The rest remain uncolored until someone comes to color with me and I offer them.
But I can say with total confidence there are perhaps 2, maybe 3 that won’t be completed.
It is worth every penny it cost and I will be following the artist and purchasing more books.
Really very well done! Printed on quality paper, one sided, with blanks for color testing. I’m a new fan, a new subscriber and a new friend! Thanks Joseph – keep up the great work!

Awesome images… no hidden objects

The images in this book are extraordinary as par usual by these artists. They took out the hidden objects which is no big loss although I did like to see the titles for each drawing in the code in the back. Very cool artwork! I have every coloring book in this collection and will continue to purchase them, they are my favorite!
