The Authors
Jon S. Bailey, PhD, BCBA-D, is Emeritus Professor of Psychology at Florida State University, where he has taught for over 50 years. Great Ethics Book! Covers the updated Ethics Code.

As a student, I wanted a new edition that covers the new Code. It’s the same quality you got from the previous editions. I would recommend buying the book not the kindle edition. While I love the convenience of having the book in my phone at all times, the formatting isn’t great (very little “text” per page, weird hyphens that don’t align with character spacing and paragraph spacing). The book is better.
Some help needs an update

Old fashioned with some great tips but needs an a serious update. For a brand new BA, it’s helpful …. For those who have been in the field it has less advice and some is really off. If you are on your elbows and seeming authoritative in a school setting – you are not a team player. Be mindful of using the advice in the right environment.
Forgot their audience

This book is directed at people who are going to be working as behavior analysts. This means they spend their time operationally defining behaviors, then measuring behaviors and using what we know about things like reinforcement contingencies to change behavior. If you are going to write a book to help them in their careers I would think you would use the same approach. Some how the authors seem to have forgotten who their intended audience is. The things they suggest are not even close to operationally defined. They give advice that is vague and sometimes blatantly insulting. Examples are dress appropriately, don’t be too shy, listen well an so on. If that is the kind of help you need, buy the book. If you want something that addresses actual behavior changes that a behavior analyst might want to make, keep looking.
Came on time, slightly damaged as the ad said

For ordering this last minute, I’m very pleased with the time it came at – within the next day. The description did say that there was mild scuffing on the corners and they weren’t wrong. It was exactly what I had ordered; minimal previous damage and appears to be unmarked and barely used.

Bought this for a university class. Was about $15 cheaper than my campus store. Very easy read and easy to follow. Lots of great information and very helpful book. Came a little damaged but that can be expected when ordering books to be delivered

This is a very useful book and is very applicable to the field of ABA. If all behaviour analysts applied the skills mentioned in this book, our field would have a lot more success in demonstrating to others that ABA can contribute significantly to society.
