He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow Scotland, UK, a Senior Lecturer, University of Liverpool, England, Professor of Paediatric Cardiac Surgery, at the University Sains Malaysia Kubang Kerian, Kelantan, Malaysia and has a Privat- Docent ( PhD equivalent) from the University of Lausanne Switzerland. From June 2017 he has been appointed as Professor with Chair of Congenital Cardiac Surgery at the University of Leicester, U.K.
Antonio has over 30 years’ experience with extensive clinical practice, scientific activity, experimental and clinical research leading to >3000 personal surgical procedures for congenital heart defects, being involved in the opening of 5 new units for Paediatric Cardiac surgery , writing 160 articles published on peer- reviewed medical journals, and he has authored 6 books .
