The Authors
Mariano was born in 1993, in Campinas, to a Brazilian father and a Japanese mother. He practiced judo in a club as a child, following his father’s footsteps. Mariano changed his mind after watching a gymnastics class

Beautiful animal designs, lots of variety, great price

I had a hard time deciding which page to color first– they are all beautiful! The detail is fine. Many of the animals are set in appropriate background scenery.
I’ve been coloring this book with Zenacolor pencils (the 72-pencil metal box set, purchased here on .
It helps to buy plain wax blending pencils too, and a good sharpener (I bought the Prismacolor set here on .)
I hope the artist produces more books– botanical, maybe?

Pretty pictures, flawed execution

The pictures are nice but the sizing is inconsistent and it almost seems like some of the patterning is just crowded in. The inking is also inconsistent sometimes too thick on certain pages. Some images are just an image in the center of the paper with a lot of white space and some are a lot of the paper. Some images have more space in the patterning and some are very very small patterns. Also, the paper is not very toothy and it’s not thick so colored pencils end up a bit patchy and need to be very carefully burnished to get a particularly good look. In addition there’s no perforation on the pages so if you don’t want to color in the coloring book which I don’t because I’m left-handed and it’s more comfortable not to, you’re going to have to either cut them out or, I guess tear them out.

My husband surprised me with an early Mother’s Day Gift! Such beautiful sketches of so many different animals! The paper is lightweight so I recommend colored pencils and so far my gel pens haven’t soaked through. There are many pages as there are all front page images and nothing on the back. Super helpful in not ruining future coloring sheets. Made in the U.S.A I would definitely order another and am looking forward to additional books!

60 drawings on one side of page. Some fairly simple drawings to some finer detailed. Paper is white and, fare quality , thicker than online store’s own paper. But all markers [water ink, ect, ] will bleed through. Animals range from: LIZARDS , ELEPHANT, OWL, FISH ,FOX,AND MORE. Also some stand along on page, others put in too scenic background. A very good assortment, well worth the low price of under $ 7.00I also order their BIRD AND FLOWER book, it get rates the same review.
