This is a fantastic resource for trainee paediatricians or even senior staff working within community paediatrics. It gives a brief overview of the specialty and how it has evolved (mostly in the UK setting). It provides concise, but detailed information on all areas encountered in community paediatrics including neuro-disability, safeguarding children, behavioural paediatrics, child development and special education. It is thorough, but small enough to carry and refer to easily. Highly recommend to all working in the field.

Fantastic little book – well laid out and concise with all the information that you would ever need to look after kids in the community . The electronic version means you have it to hand at times when you are unsure about the way forward . Provides a great framework for consultations in the community. This book I am sure will become an essential guide for Paediatric trainees , GPs and other professionals working in the community with children. This will save many a paediatric doctor the need to carry bits of paper, and laminated sheets with scattered information. There is loads of useful information forday to day practice from Tables with Developmental milestones to assessment and Community Paediatrics (Oxford Specialist Handbooks in Paediatrics) management of pain and lists of resources for parents . Well done Dr Gada , even enjoyed the little Quotes that you have used through out the book.
I am sure you book will help us who work with children in the community to ” Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”, just as your quote from Theodore Roosevelt at the beginning of Chapter 2!! I will certainly recommend it to my colleagues and trainees.

Concise and handy booklet for community health professionals. The print is very small so would be a difficult read for those with problems with their eyesight.
