No Answers Provided to Case Studies

The cases are helpful; however, realize that there are NO answers whatsoever to the questions presented in the cases–not a huge problem I suppose, b/c you can google everything, but certainly an annoyance. (esp. when there are multiple possible answers. The author states in the foreword that some of the cases are real; in which case, why not provide the justification presented in the patient’s chart as to why that patient takes a particular drug, esp. considering that you may take a drug for its side effects rather than its therapeutic effect. . .anyhow. . )
I think if the author provided at least SOME insight/guidance to the cases that it would be much more helpful, but until then, I’m skeptical as to why others gave this book 5 stars.

DO NOT PURCHASE KINDLE VERSION! DOESN’T HAVE ALL THE MATERIALS NEEDED!

Don’t purchase the KINDLE version! It’s a waste of money because it doesn’t come with the CD supplement that is REQUIRED to complete the case studies! This book is a rip-off to put required material (rather than supplemental only) on a CD and then offer an electronic version of the book without a supplement. I completely threw my money away on this unknowingly. Very disappointed this company is ripping off poor college students.

I understand the ratings of acceptable, good, very good and new can be somewhat obscure, however this book is falling apart with HEAVY wear and tear. I have gotten books with good and acceptable ratings and they were MUCH better than this subpar book with heavy wear and tear!

The case studies are well written (you WILL need the provided CD-ROM for supplemental information), but there is no answer key for the questions posed in the text. I bought this for a pathophysiology class, so some cases were discussed in class. Otherwise, this is just an overpriced workbook. There should be an option to obtain the answer key after completing a class.

Used this for a Patho class and thought it was a great resource. My group had hypertension and it was really good about giving an overview of the disease without overwhelming you with information. Some of the studies were obvious as to why the disorder occurred but in those cases it helped link body systems and show interactions.
