Discrepancies /Annoying/ Elementary writing

So I’m in the early stages of the book, chapter 11, and I guess I’m an extremely detailed person because I’m seeing discrepancies in the eye color of the characters. This probably doesn’t bother most people but I picture the characters in my mind based on their description by the author.
On one page, the character Kelly has ‘brown doe eyes’ then later when Adam is describing the early stages of their relationship, she has ‘sparkling blue eyes’.
This is super irritating to me because I’m so detailed and remember things like this.
It’s a great story so far but this lack of care in writing disturbs my OCD.
Wish me luck in reading the rest of the book!

Update: finished the book and added another photo showing the typical writing style- my 8th grader could write better than this.

Do not recommend.

Just Meh to Me

Didn’t care for the writing style – I found it to be repetitive with many useless descriptions and unnecessary details. Didn’t care for the characters at all, so it was impossible for me to be interested in the story… The husband came across as supremely smarmy, while his wife was just a shell of a character who just didn’t resonate with me at all…. To be honest, I bailed out about a third of the way through because there are just too many amazing books out there to read.

I sat their reading this book absolutely paralyzed and was unable to do anything else until I finished the book. This book will take you on the absolute adventure that you’ve been craving in these uncertain times. Buy the paperback, you’ll want to keep it for years to come. If you are looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat, while making your head spin, look no further. Jeneva is an extremely talented writer that writes in such an honest and relatable way, you’ll find yourself being absolutely immersed in it.

This book started out interesting enough, but loose ends, red herrings and a rushed ending quickly lowered its rating for me. It had many elements of predictability, which I don’t mind if the overall book is clever and pulls off a twist at the end. The twist-ending felt like a copy (Gone Girl – which was MUCH better) that wasn’t well done and was rushed. There were unanswered questions, plot holes, and things that just didn’t make sense. I read this with a friend and we both agreed that it left us disappointed and glad we only spent a dollar on it.

The most creative thing about this book is it’s reviews. I have a hard time believing anyone really liked this book, no less loved it, from page one the believability factor was 0. Yes, it was fiction but good fiction should paint a picture or build a story that makes the reader want to come along. Don’t waste your time on this one.
