A few glaring issues.

It makes sense that the book would read a little young, but yikes the first couple chapter Leo is not like able. It gets better with time and at the beginning I do feel bad for Dean. My biggest problem in this book is the fact that there is not one, but two sexual assault scenes in the book that are glossed over. She doesn’t tell anyone. She isn’t even affected by it and there isn’t a warning in the beginning of the book either. It’s almost like it was just used to make Dean look like a monster, which isn’t cool at all. Also, Anna mentions that she has depression along with her dad and it’s completely glossed over. Why? It makes no sense. The Brutal Birthright series was phenomenal so to say this was a let down is an understatement.I’ll still read book two as Miles is a year older and hopefully it will be better.

I’m not even sure what this author thought she was doing with with this book “The Heir” she left the ending wide open, cliffhanging that she’ll never finish. The characters Anna, Leo, Dean and Zoe caught my eye immediately and even though they did great, this author leaves every single book open with no ending.

Like example “Anna and Leo come home for summer break holding hands” and than it says “2 months later” their not allowed to share a room but still dating, who does that? Who leaves a book that wasn’t even finished?

Highly recommend not reading this series at all. You’ll get addicted but your high will leave you very disappointed.
-5 worse written ending in history.

Captivating and enthralling from the first page

Sophie Lark took us on a new fantastic journey with the Kingmakers series. This is a whole new world that was beyond fascinating to read. A school just for those in the mafia. What an awesome idea! I loved hearing about the classes and how the classes were divided between the four groups. I am going to love this new world!

The first story centered around Leo and Anna although Dean plays a major part in The Heir as well. The story was so full of angst and longing waiting for Leo an Anna to find their way to each other. Dean put up a major fight. He plotted, spied on Anna and deceived those around him just to get Anna. It was never going to be enough. Anna and Leo were destined for each other. They were the light and true home to the each other. It was awesome!

I have to say that I’m very curious who Dean will end up with. He is dangerous and deceptive. Who will be his match? She will have to be a strong, fierce woman. I have my suspicions.

This was everything that you expect from Sophie Larks books and so much more. It was an incredible read that had me captivated and enthralled from the first page. This is definitely a must read!
