Concise and well thought out

Dr. Burchard’s understanding of surgical critical care and the pathophysiology of critical illness is unmatched. This book as a very approachable read and it breaks down topics into easy to understand chapters. Takes a very complex topic and makes it very easy to understand.

Great book for critical care pathophysiology

I had pleasure of working with Dr.Burchard in ICU. His approach to critically ill patient is based on a very deep understanding of pathophysiology. This book although is named hand book of surgical critical care it is extremely relevant to any one caring for any critically ill patient medical or surgical. I am unable to access online content at this time but text is a very easy and fluent read. I read all of it in 4 days.

Easy to read and understand

Dr. Burchard’s understanding of surgical critical care is incredible, but even more impressive is his ability to convey that knowledge in an intelligible fashion for learners to assimilate that information. It is succinct, organized, not overly verbose and will be practice changing for anyone who reads it.

Kindle Version lacks Print Version material *SAME PRICE*

The Kindle Version & Print version are both listed as 134.99$ but the Kindle version lacks any online resources at Lippincott’s The Point. This is very disappointing for anyone who needs a mobile version (Kindle) and would like access to the digital resources that Lippincott offers to people who purchase the print version.

Severely damaged despite paying full price for a new book?!

I’m sure the info in the book is great, and I really enjoy the pocket guide. However I paid full price for a brand new boo as I would like to keep this book long term as a reference my first few years as a NP. The book was in horrible condition, the entire binder broker, pages ripped, the cover broken. I would like a replacement sent ASAP!!!

One of the worst textbooks ever

This textbook is appalling. It’s mostly just pictures of assessments, with a small amount of descriptions. There’s is also A LOT of spelling errors and typos. Very poor editing.

I bought this book a month or so ago and didn’t scratch off the access code until today (yes it was fully covered and looked legit). Well it doesn’t work…
