This unique resource fills a void in the literature by exploring surgical and reconstructive issues specific to each subsite of the oral cavity. Important pre- and post-treatment evaluations by dental, speech language pathology, and the oncologic care team are reviewed.
The comprehensive book is divided into 10 sections, each focused on different facets of the patients’ trajectory. The text starts with epidemiology of oral cavity cancer and discussion of patient populations at increased risk of oral cavity cancer. The book details pre-cancers, multidisciplinary diagnostic evaluations, treatment, post-treatment, recurrent and metastatic oral cancer, and palliative care, concluding with future directions such as chemoprevention. A full spectrum of oral neoplasms are covered in depth, including different types of squamous cell cancer, primary malignancies of the mandible, and sublingual and minor salivary gland malignancies.
- All oral cavity subsites are approached from both an ablative and reconstructive standpoint, with dedicated chapters focused on specific oral cancer reconstructive techniques
- Discussion of oncologic considerations encompassing radiation and medical oncology including definitive radiation therapy, brachytherapy, adjuvant radiation therapy, and adjuvant chemotherapy/novel therapeutics
- Clinical pearls cover complications of both surgery and radiation therapy, as well as psychological and dental implications of therapy

excellent book ,full imagen, important information, in stomatology and oral surgical and i have many books of oral pathology but this book its the best
It contains a wealth of knowledge, but the sentence structure is unnecessarily complicated. For instance, the beginning of chapter 28 says this about Protists: “Given that they are classified in a number of different groups, it isn’t surprising that few general characteristics of protists can be cited without exceptions.” This is such a bad sentence. A simpler way to say this would be, “Protists are difficult to classify. There are only a few general characteristics that protists have in common.”
An informative study aid with illustrations and descriptions throughout to provide you with a quick and reference guide on orthopaedics and trauma.
Written by a team of experts and predominantly targeted at GPs, GP registrars, junior doctors and study aid for doctors in training.
Scans, images and line drawings which provide guidance on the diagnosis, treatment and management of orthopaedic conditions.
Not being a doctor myself I still found the book interesting and intriguing.

This is a very good quality and well produced resource book intended to help with better understanding the diagnosis, treatment and management of orthopaedic conditions which is perfect for students studying orthopaedics (specific routes or general student doctors/nurses), physiotherapists, sports physicians and other healthcare professionals. Much of this is focused on assessing an orthopedic condition initially and the book is incredibly helpful on that front with tons of diagrams, illustrations, x-rays, scans and photos to support the written text. Through this and the 24 very well laid out and indexed chapters the book is very user friendly and it’s easy to head straight to a specific body part or issue. A brilliant resource for any healthcare professional exposed to musculoskeletal/orthopaedic related disorders.
Great Entry into the Subject Matter

The book has a semi-hardback, flexible, glossy cover and has 215-pages of x-rays, scan, diagrams, photos (some not for the fainthearted) and information. It’s broken down into a total of 24 chapters covering such things as Orthopaedic Trauma, Management of Adult Fractures, Orthopaedic Procedures, etc and chapters on most areas of the body.
It’s well written and, for a lay-man, pretty easy to understand and follow. All the imagery is great, some a bit gory, but I personally like that.
