The content of the book is not bad, but the illustrations are a joke

I should have done my homework before purchasing this book! This book is worthless as far as teaching you how to recognize the various dermatological diseases you will see in primary care. A poorly executed black and white drawing may help some practitioners, but not me. The content of the book is not bad, but the illustrations are a joke.

No color photographs. Very disappointed.

No color photographs. Not one. Section title page says “Color Photographs” but they are all black and white as if this book is a counterfeit photocopy

In one book there is everything a primary care needs for most of the derm that will present in the office. Due to the shortage of dermatologist doing medical derm it is a critical need. The older edition is fine. You get treatments from current references. Easy to understand and helpful in diagnosis.

This is an expensive book and doesn’t have as many photographs as you might expect from a dermatology book. BUT despite this, it is my favorite book so far in teaching the principles and clinical approach to dermatology. I read this book a bit like a novel (beginning to end) and a bit as a reference book. Of all the books I have bought and reviewed over the years, I credit this book as the resource that made me MUCH more comfortable with dermatology in my family medicine clinic.
