The Authors

Alan Robert is the creator of several critically-acclaimed graphic novels: Wire Hangers, Crawl to Me (in development to become a motion picture), Killogy, The Shunned One (2017), and The Beauty of Horror, a bestselling series of horror-themed adult coloring books. Robert is also well known as the bassist/songwriter for the hard rock group Life of Agony for over two decades. A Brooklyn native, Alan’s journey as a comic book creator began at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where he attended on a scholarship and studied cartooning under legendary Thor comic writer/artist Walt Simonson.

Soooo funny. Had the great aunt read this little gem to my kids for Christmas Eve. The had no clue why everyone was dying of laughter.

NOT FOR CHILDREN!!

This might sound ridiculous but this is book is not at all what I thought it would be! I thought it would be fun of subtle sexual innuendos that small children wouldn’t get. It’s really cartoon pornography meant as a gag gift for adults. (“Dee’s wife even loved putting his nuts in her mouth. Sometimes she shared Dee’s nuts with her mom.”) I bought it for my nephew’s second birthday thinking the adults would have a laugh reading it. Thankfully I read it before I took it to the party. I’m not even sure what to do with it, because I don’t want it in my house. I have two older children and these innuendos certainly won’t fly over their heads. On top of that it’s $15 for a flimsy book that looks like it was printed in someone’s home office. Just….don’t.

I got this for my husband’s 50th Anniversary and it was hilarious! Disclaimer it is not a children’s book and you must have a sense of humor😂

The journal cover is lovely with a glossy portrait of Ghouliana on a matte black background. It is heaftier than expected which is a very good thing! Page thickness is perfect with a smoother texture, great for expressing on paper the madness in your mind hahaha! The journal provides ample space for your imagination to bloom onto the pages. Perfect for horror lovers of all ages!!

This is the journal I’ve been waiting for my whole life. There are creepy suggested activities on many of the pages but also enough room that I can do things like start my Halloween horror movie list for this year. I’ve started making it my own by coloring one of the intro

Great item just a shame the person delivering didn’t care. Packaging had slight creases at first glance but the book some deep creases through the whole thing.

This was such a let down after the extraordinary predecessors in the series. The Bad Seed, The Cool Bean and The Good Egg are all modern fables with a deep meaning and lesson to be learned about releasing anger, overcoming envy, and navigating anxiety. The all deal with big emotions and troubles with grace and empathy.
The Great Eggscape was an unemotional story without the character development we’ve found in the rest of the series.Such a let down.

Great book!! Very cute and funny! My 6 year old really enjoyed it. She also loved the 2 pages of stickers included in the book. She spent hours decorating plastic eggs leftover from Easter and creating her own characters

Awesome book, but I would not recommend it for anyone under about 16. As an adult I found it creepy fun, but some things a parent might not want kids to mess with. Like the voodoo doll or the ouija board, writing a spell, or ‘fill this page with madness’. The darkness in the book is slightly disturbing and not something I believe a child should be exposed too.

Having said that, I think the book is delightful, but then again I’m an adult. Another fun book for the BoH family. Just use with caution.
