Excellent Resource!
February 2, 2020

As other reviewers have said, there are plenty of typos, odd organization, and awkwardly worded practice questions throughout the book and online practice tests. However, the wealth of information this book provides totally makes up for any of those mistakes. For the most part, it is written in easily understandable, and concise language.

This was the primary tool I used to study for the Praxis, and it was also helpful in preparing for my university comprehensive exams. I read each chapter twice, and completed the practice questions at the end of each chapter. I took several practice tests, and while I think they were helpful, ultimately I was discouraged by them because I kept scoring low (I only got above a 162 one time in the three of four attempts I made). These low scores are in part due to me taking them less seriously than the actual exam, but I also think that awkwardly worded questions, and a difference in how the test score was calculated played a part (for example, on one practice exam I got 33 for all three subtest scores, and did not pass that test, but on the actual exam a 33 on any subtest is well above average). Because of my seemingly poor performance on these practice exams I did not have high hopes of passing the Praxis when I walked into the testing center, so I was completely floored when my final score was 193. 193!

In summary, this is an excellent resource for preparing for the Praxis, and I also will definitely keep it around for future reference. The practice tests are a useful tool, but I wouldn’t rely too heavily on them as a predictor of how you will do on the actual exam.

Everything from grad school summed up in one book
October 13, 2019

I used this book along with the practice exams that came with it to study for the praxis and passed with flying colors! The practice exams were the most helpful in preparing for the actual test. They helped me with pacing and overall test-taking. The book is well written and the information is easy to digest. It comes with 10 exams and smaller tests broken down by subject and topic interests. I highly recommend taking an exam to identify your weak areas and then use the book to study. I practiced taking all the tests and when it came to testing day, it was just another day. I felt well prepared and didn’t even feel stressed out. I’m definitely keeping this book!

My copy is not an original copy
January 30, 2021

After returning the copy I received from this seller (access code was invalid), I purchased a copy from the publisher. When receiving the copy from the publisher, I noticed differences in the quality of the printing and binding of the books and suspect that the book I purchased from this seller NOT and official copy (counterfeit?).

Great overall but missing a handful of pages
September 11, 2020

Great tool for studying for the Praxis. Only complaint I have is that it’s missing part of chapters 12 & 13 (pages 553-568 to be exact). I don’t understand how that happens. I’m compiling information for my comprehensive exam next month and I won’t be able to use important information I need from this book. Will have to look elsewhere.

Worth the purchase

I read this book from cover to cover over the course of a few weeks and then took my Praxis, passed by a large margin. Very good study tool. Comprehensive and explains material in a way that is easy to understand.
