This should help you pass with flying colors!

I haven’t taken my Board exam yet, but I believe this is a good review and pre-test study guide for anyone who is a student of genetics. There is a good review, as well as many practice questions…everything you need to keep your knowledge fresh and to re-enforce those details that may be on the exam that have not stayed in the forefront of your memory. Definitely worth the price for the review!

I only wish I had it earlier

Great review book and to the point. No need for another resource for step 1. The book offers most I need to know for step 1 and classes. Things that we have not covered in class are well explained. However for population genetics a more thorough read might be necessary for some but overall this book is great

 NEW BOOK ARRIVED DAMAGED

January 14, 2021

The book has a sticker on it claiming new (and that’s how I bought it) however the spine of the book has a tear and the cover has several scratches and blemishes. The edges of the cover are dented in a multitude of places as well. Highly disappointing for a “new” book.

 Oriented toward clinical situations

April 26, 2018

I used this in graduate school myself and purchased this latest edition for my niece starting medical school this summer. I was not disappointed. I imagine Netter is useful for the lab section (dissection) but this is hands down the best supplemental A&P book. The book is organized by region (as compared to system) so it is a good supplement for those taking gross lab at the same time.
1. Students do yourself a favor and purchase a paperback copy of this book. I know from my experience with the previous “E” edition I used – that the E books are usually terrible (missing table of contents, missing page numbers and unreadable images (too small); it is difficult to navigate readings and assignments). Graduate school is hard enough without having the visuals to help you succeed.
2. Blue boxes! Clinical scenarios help you prepare for rotations and application style questions.
This book connects the structural part of the anatomy with the hands on parts of healthcare.
3. This book has some of the most professionally done charts and images I have ever seen. Just one example, the muscle charts show innervation, attachments and muscle action.
 Poor organization and mistakes

July 24, 2018

As a medical student, I did NOT find this book helpful. Many students in my cohort returned it to purchase Netter’s Anatomy (most widely used). The material lacks a decent flow, and the organization is questionable… We also just found a mistake in a diagram. I know it’s not easy to be perfect, but if a textbook for future medical professionals cannot be consistent, I don’t recommend selling it.

Very Reliable Text But Wish the Wording Could Be Clarified and Simplified

June 28, 2020

Very well-organized and clear! Helps lay down foundation to understand the commonalities of the body’s anatomy and even clearly notes some not-so-common differences in others that are important to be aware of because they might be made differently, therefore treatment might be slightly altered to effectively treat them.

The textbook has pretty good diagrams (most will couple the book with Netter’s Atlas) to understand anatomy. There are some typos/incorrect facts in it, but they are very rare to come across.

I wish the language was more dummed-down and more simple so that concepts weren’t so confusing and had to be read 5 times to understand what’s being said. Other than that, I haven’t written one, but a textbook is tough to write and you gotta know your stuff and the writers are really reliable!

My recommendation is for the writers to consider the verbiage and simplify and clarify wording so it’s obvious that they understand it so well that “anyone” could understand it’s concepts.
