By far the best Atlas of Human Anatomy
January 3, 2019

I am a retired Plastic Surgeon who always had a special interest in Anatomy. There is NOTHING better to learn anatomy than a good Atlas. I have ALL the good human anatomy atlas : Grant’s, Netter, Sobotta ( 3 volumes) and of course the Thieme, Gilroy and Macpherson, which is by far my favorite. I also love Grant’s atlas, my second choice, Sobotta my 3rd choice and Netter my 4th choice. I have used all of them and will never get rid of any of them. For instance the ” fabella” is only mentioned in Grant’s (sesamoid in lateral head of the gastrocnemius, one question in my final oral exam in Anatomy in first year medical school and I was apparently the only one who knew what it was, thanks to Grant atlas.)If you only want one Atlas I think the Thieme is without a doubt, the best one today. I have just ordered the last edition of Netter whose review I will publish soon after receiving it; however I doubt it will equal the Thieme 3rd edition, which to me is the most beautiful ,most comprehensive with the very BEST illustrations. It is a must for any student of anatomy, especially medical student and for anyone who loves anatomy.

Way Better than Netter!!!!
November 11, 2016

I first bought the Netter Atlas and wasn’t so excited about the hand-drew pictures. When I wanted to study muscles insertions and so on I would find myself flipping throught pages like crazy and using other books and apps plus I felt that there were some pictures that should’ve been there.

That’s when when I found this book.

Is the beeeest one by far. And believe me. Im not biased. I gave the chance to both.

Returned Netter and kept this One.

And you can see you have the tables right at hand and the computer made drawings are just beautiful and detailed.

That without talking about the code it comes with and the resources you have. Plus the new radiographs addition.

It’s just the best atlas

Excellent for medical reference

Covers just about everything, tons of illustrations from multiple angles. Illustrations are all very clear, well labeled, and easy to look up. Of the dozen or so anatomy books I’ve used I’d say this is the best.

Great for anatomy!
May 2, 2019

I recently purchased this book while taking anatomy and physiology. It is terrific, it was suggested to me by one of the professors and I love it. It really helped me through the anatomy part of the class and am looking at it daily to get me through some of the physiology. I would recommend it to anyone taking anatomy, as there are so many more photos than my $400 anatomy/physiology book.

Great quality

This was a requirement for my anatomy class. I found it helpful because there are many charts to make the details of each muscle’s range of motion clear. It is a high quality book too – thick pages with great coloring.

Great book always useful if you’re pursuing any position in the medical field even professors would praise me for getting the book even if it wasn’t needed for the class great illustrations simple explanations and overall great even if you don’t know a lot about the human anatomy

I own both the physical and electronic versions

My favorite atlas. Highly recommended. The computer generated images offer an unparalleled clarity, which is essential when learning a new concept.

Beautiful Book

Beautifully illustrated book. Clear to read and understand. It’s not a “deep” book but gives a nice layout for a beginner of anatomy. Nice addition to any personal office.

10 x better than Netters
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 21, 2019

Way better than Netters because Netters just clumps everything together making it difficult to decipher a muscle, ligament, nerve etc. Also Netters has unrealistic hand-drawn pictures, whereas this book has computerised images that look real.

Not worth the upgrade ….images are much smaller than previous edition
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 3, 2016

Not as clear as the edition it replaces…the images are much smaller, the book itself is smaller it almost looks as if they’ve made a mistake in printing as a lot of the images are so small leaving large areas of blank page!!! I wouldn’t recommend it.
