I LOVE the fact that there is more “white space”

Gotta say, this one is my favorite! for the very reasons given by the negative comments. I love that you can “finish” a single little picture in record time and not have to spend HOURS to be “done”. I don’t finish the big guys…I have a short attention span for any task so I rarely finish anything that takes more than 10-15 minutes. This book fits my personal style of crafting….small bites at a time…and each bite gives the feeling of “DONE”! Mission accomplished!

Very Disappointed!

I pre-ordered Worlds of Wonder with great anticipation! I love Johanna Basford’s books; I find her books to be challenging, interesting, sophisticated, whimsical, yet, detailed with double page designs. I completed about 80% of the pictures in each book with much delight, challenge, and satisfaction.

Upon arrival of Worlds of Wonder, and with much enthusiasm, I began reviewing all the new designs. Sadly, this book is mostly a simplified, “child-like” book. Also, many pages of one picture with open space, as previously mentioned in other reviews.

I seldom write reviews, however, in my opinion, this book is a simplistic example of Johanna Basford’s vast talents as shown in her previous books.

My favorite coloring book to date

I am an amateur colourist who enjoys the books of many different artists ;however, I must admit that Johanna Basford’s collections are my favorite. I own every one of her books. This new book Worlds of Wonder is my favorite yet. It has a wonderfully diverse selection of pictures: villages, florals, ocean scenes, vignettes. Any style of picture that you might be in the mood for can be found within its pages. I have already completed several pages and thoroughly enjoying them. The paper is excellent- I have done a page in prismacolors, one in castle art, one with arteza pencils, one with ergosofts, and even have added some gel pencil and all brands have blended well on the paper and have exceeded my expectations. Whether you have some of her other books or you are new to Johanna Basford or even new to adult coloring, I highly recommend this purchase. You will not be disappointed.

Great quality paper!

For those of us who like mixed media, having quality paper is important. This long awaited book does not disappoint. The drawings are diverse with intricate themes, mandala-like pages and simple drawings for a quick coloring session. However, I also wish the pages were one-sided. There are some pages that already stand out with me. There are a few drawings that would be perfect to mount as watercolors when watercolor pencils are used. I will treat some pages with grounds to use actual watercolor paint. I may get another copy in the future. I like to have two copies of books I like.

As always johannas books are fabulous.
Paper quality and line art are fabulous!
This book is a little different then her others but still has a lot of her whimsy and botanicals. I miss the two page spreads or fold outs that this book doesn’t have, except for a center double page.
Only draw back the pages are double sided and the binding seems weak. When I opened the book the pages already started falling away from the bonding.
But overall It’s worth the purchase. I’d buy this again.

Quality paper which is always a Johanna mark of excellence. I miss the big fold out double page spread. I usually get mine spiral bound at Staples so I don’t pay attention to the binder. The pictures are not quite as full on the page as her other books which is great for the artist but not necessarily for a colorist. I got mine yesterday and went to Staples immediately.

I adore J Basford’s adult Coloring Books! My first adult book SECRET GARDEN was a Christmas present from my husband, who is also a colorist. I fell in love and bought 3 more. Then I pre-ordered WOLDS OF WONDER, knowing JB wouldn’t disappoint. Boy, was I ever right!

It is great with my Prismacolor pencils and even with watercolor brush pens! I experimented on a pepper, carrot top, and banana and NO BLEED THROUGH despite having printing on every page!

The cover is very colorable, inside and out. It folds open in both front and back.

However, I was a bit disappointed to see in the video a few moments ago that it is for children and teens! What?!?! I beg her pardon! It’s just right for me, on frazzled days I need loose and light. And I’m in my 60s!
I love it, regardless WHO it is “supposed” to be for, thankyouverymuch!
