About the Authors of Vascular Technology 5th Edition PDF

Claudia Rumwell has lectured and consulted on vascular ultrasound, nursing, senior care, and medical education, and continues to write. She is a past member of the board of the Society for Vascular Ultrasound, is a recipient of the SVU Distinguished Service Award, and has been honored with the status of SVU Fellow. She previously served in the following roles for the Division of Vascular Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University: Technical Director of the Vascular Lab, Clinic Nurse Coordinator, Research Nurse Coordinator, and Instructor in Surgery.

Micky McPharlin has lectured widely on registry preparation and vascular topics, as well as providing consulting services. She also serves on the editorial board of the Journal for Vascular Ultrasound. Like Claudia, she is a recipient of the Society for Vascular Ultrasound Distinguished Service Award and has been honored with the status of SVU Fellow. She is the former Technical Director of the Vascular Laboratory of Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, and the former Program Director of the Vascular Ultrasound Program at Baker College of Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Absolutely the best, hands down! I read and studied from this book and passed my vascular exam. Everything you need to know is in this book, I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking to take the vascular exam.

Content and style are below average

You get the feeling very early that the ones who wrote the book have average medical knowledge.
Authors are wordy, don’t stick to the point and keep repeating long pararagpahs of which you could only skim an important line. Every now and then they would state that: “many think …..while others believe….”
they could be more evidence based, after all the book is medical.
Apart from their style of writing, the content is superficial, blurred and not to the point.
Significant important facts are deliberately skipped.
Overall I am disappointed.

I really like this book I think the pictures are great I love the way the information is laid out. I got this to study for my vascular boards which I have not taken yet so I don’t know if it is a good study till but I am learning a lot from it.

The best foundation book on Vascular Ultrasound. I own the old version which I thought was great. This one has more color pictures and made a great book even greater, which I didn’t think was possible. Very well organized and clearly explained. Index was very helpful. It comes with a test you can take in the back which gives you 15 CMEs, which is why I purchased it in the first place.
