Some of these situations I could picture easily, working in a hospital myself, but seeing it from the perspective of a junior doctor is not only highly entertaining, but an eye-opener as well! Loved it.

More laugh out loud reminiscences. Best enjoyed after the original “This is going to hurt”, this is a shorter series of diary entries over Christmas and New Year. It includes material omitted from the first on grounds of good taste. So be warned.

Having absolutely loved the last book (I read it twice !!) I had to have this one too. Really good read and I’d recommend it if you’ve got a spare hour. I mean literally an hour or two. It’s a tiny 142 pages. I think paying nearly the price of a proper book is a bit steep. I’m a tiny 5’ woman with little hands (see picture for reference) Can’t blame him for cashing in in the success of the last book but I’ve read longer articles!!

The first book was excellent, and I pre-ordered this one as soon as it was announced.
This is just a pot-boiler- and it’s clear he ran out of ideas towards the end. A bit thin throughout, and surely more happened during his last Christmas than he mentions?
And the last few pages of acknowledgements to everyone including the boiler-room cat was shameless padding. What a shame.

I loved the first book and as a result eagerly anticipated the release of this one. I wasn’t disappointed with the content at all , Adam wrote with the same humour and compassion as I This is going to hurt. Having had my daughter on Christmas eve I enjoyed hearing the medics point of view from being stuck in hospital while everyone else was binging on Quality street and watching her Maj! My grumble was his short it was and this is purely from a selfish point of view I wanted to indulge for a but longer than the hour it took me to read it. A bit like being given one chocolate covered caramel digestive when you really need a whole pack , just not quite hitting the spot ! That said I would heartily recommend both thus,and the first book.
