Some Questions Outdated
February 3, 2021

I teach in a family medicine residency program. Have reviewed several chapters so far and, unfortunately, have found a few questions and explanations that are no longer up-to-date by several years. If you’re concerned about accuracy I would not buy this book. Also noted, as several other reviewers have, that letter answers often do not match explanation/discussion.

Several letter answers listed were not correct to match the answer responses provided. Most of the questions in the book have the answer right directly below it so I had to spend time covering up all the answers with post-it notes so that I would not look at the answer (this was a bit annoying and time consuming). I liked Bratton for board review but this book was a newer edition so I purchased it. I did not find it that helpful for the April 2018 exam.

Beware of “incorrect” answers!
March 17, 2018

Have been using this book for about a month now to prep for the ABFM recert exam. Lots of questions with reasonably in depth answers. Disappointed with the amount of “wrong” answers(at least 20 so far) ie answer listed as C but really E and the discussion of the question supports E. Very poor job by the author and or editor!

Poor job of editing the questions for accuracy of the “correct” answer. Many questions have reasonably through discussion of the topic but many do not.
