The Writers
Nicole Trope went to university to study Law but realised the error of her ways when she did very badly on her first law essay because-as her professor pointed out- ‘It’s not meant to be a story.’ She studied teaching instead and used her holidays to work on her writing career and complete a Masters’ degree in Children’s Literature.
The idea for her first published novel, The Boy under the Table, was so scary that it took a year for her to find the courage to write the emotional story. She went on to publish a further five novels in Australia before joining Bookouture in 2019. She is a USA Today and bestseller in the USA, UK, AUS and CAN.
She lives in Sydney with her husband and three children

A heavily-tattooed ex-con, Logan Clarkson, 32, has turned his life around after a 3-year stint in prison, thanks to his wife, Debbie, a maternity ward nurse, and her non-judgmental and welcoming parents, Paul and Ruth. Debbie’s brother, Mack, gives Logan a job as a delivery man. He’s not as quick to trust Logan as his sister and parents are.
On a hot day in Sydney, Australia, Logan attempts to deliver a new PC to Katherine West, but she refuses to open the door to sign for it. He can’t leave it without her signature. He tries to work with her, but she’s adamant about not opening the door. Logan drives away puzzled, but can’t let it go. He begins to wonder if there was something going on in that house and if Katherine needed help. He shares his concern with his wife and boss, but neither seem to think it’s a big deal.
Logan’s younger sister, Maddie, 25, has been assaulted and is in the hospital in Melbourne. Logan can’t get a flight out til that evening, but wants to beat her loser boyfriend Patrick to a pulp!
