Misses the Message
April 3, 2021
I get where this was going, but it just doesn’t quite get there. The artwork is entertaining and well drawn, but there’s not enough to read. If someone is looking for a picture book then this will suit their needs, but if they’re looking for something to read to a child, or to have a child read to them, there’s simply not enough content to satisfy.
This is the kind of book that Could create conversation and show the differences between perspectives but I feel it was lacking in guidance towards that goal. It felt me wanting something more.
In a nutshell this is going to be a Very quick read and more of a look-at-the-pictures kind of book.

Sweet Children’s Story with a Timeless Message
April 1, 2021
Oh boy, does this story bring back memories! Every day of her life, my stınker of a doxie tried to escape the confines of the fence and get into trouble, so much so that a friend dubbed her the Houdini dog. She was eighteen years old and still trying to “run” away. But she was so freaking adorable, all was forgiven. Every time.
On a more serious note, if there’s one thing society as a whole seems to have lost, it’s the ability to find common ground that should connect us as humans. A disappointing legacy that will require effort, compassion and determination to change.
This may be a sweet children’s story with colorful, eye-catching illustrations, but its message is ageless and vital.

Decent theme but flawed presentation
April 1, 2021
The art is adequate and same with the writing. A tale about a cat and a dog learning to appreciate each other. My boy wasn’t impressed but said it was good for free which I agreed with.

Not sure what is said in the book because I was not able to read any of the words. I was not able to enlarge the page either. Terrible.

Reads Well As a Children’s Comic Book
April 1, 2021
It was a quick read. I read it again and it reads well as a children’s comic book and picture book where there are no words. The illustrations pair well perfectly with the story. Even through our differences, common interests can bring us together.

So cute😍

This is a super simple cute book, there’s not a lot of words so it would be great for a kid just learning to read but even my kids who are 9 and 11 enjoyed this book.

Charming Story for Young Children
May 4, 2021
The award-winning writer/illustrator team of Anna Kang and Christopher Weyant returns with “Hudson and Tallulah Take Sides,” a 40-page charmer primarily focused on Weyant’s engaging illustrations as a definitely divided dog and cat can’t see eye-to-eye on anything until one day when they venture outside their home confines and learn that despite their obvious differences they can still be on the same side.
This is a quick, breezy read with only the simplest of a story to tell but it’s told engagingly well and with sweeping, beautiful illustrations. I had some issues with the Kindle version of this book, though could easily see either Kindle or print being a welcome addition to a pre-school library. This would also be a relatively light book for beginning readers as Kang’s words and Weyant’s illustrations tie together quite nicely.
This was an First Read and I look forward to exploring Kang and Weyant’s other works.

ADORABLE

THIS IS A CUTE BOOK. THE CREATURES ARE CUTE AND THE COLORS ARE GREAT. IT TEACHES EVEN THOUGH WE LOOK DIFFERENT AND ARE DIFFERENT IN OTHER WAYS, IF WE TAKE THE TIME TO LEARN ABOUT EACH OTHER AND GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER, WE CAN STILL BECOME FRIENDS AND SEE WE AREN’T SO DIFFERENT AFTER ALL. FOR ANYONE
