Neonatal Resuscitation Textbook

I purchased this textbook, because I needed it for the class in neonatal resuscitation. Unfortunately, it is very hospital orientated, and I am a home birth midwife. I need this class to keep up national certification. It does a very good job of preparing you to take the tests that need to be accomplished, before you are actually able to take the class. The instructor that I use is very good at applying the materials for out of hospital settings. So I am pleased with the combination. I also have an Apple Computer with new operating system, so the disc that comes with the book does not work in my computer. It would obviously be very good for this company to make a disc that does work in the Apple computer or tell us before we buy. But this complaint has been registered multiple times, without any fix. I have written to the company to ask for an Apple disc when it is available, but I am not holding my breath.

important reference…. last class I took was just awful… but then I again its good to just dry em off and keep em warm… that usually does the trick… with perhaps a little bulb suction m than n and maybe a little blow by…. always good to work in concert with others if ya get my drift. if other interventions are required..and well I am not around situations that require this currently… but some things we never forget…

Whenever a new edition comes out, I like to purchase my own for constant review and referral during
the years it is current. The DVD that comes with this book has helpful reenactments to help visualize the flow chart in most situations. As true in previous editions, the book is layed out in such a way to promote easy understanding and reinforcement.
This edition definitely is worth buying due to the new changes. It’s just not the same old same.
Further, the time it took to get the book and the condition were both excellent.

No way to get around using this text for NRP- the distributor was quick- but this text is horrible.

Textbook written by multiple authors who didn’t seem to collaborate anywhere in it’s production.
Poor, hand-drawn, illustrations and the CD ROM accompanying the program kept force closing despite my using a new Toshiba laptop with high quality processor. I could look at the photo but not watch the videos– this made the poorly written text all the more important. AHA — please have this rewritten before my next two year update!!!

Items arrived in very good condition, the books were perfect.
The reason for a 3 star is the following: In the product description it was not mentioned that “For use in India only” was printed across the front – and rear covers. Also, typically this comes with the accompanying CD, these did not and I do not recall that fact being mentioned in the listing.
Otherwise, these are fine.

When I first heard I had to take this class, I had my doubts about this book and the new material that was added in comparison to the old book. Once I received the book it was not so bad. I enjoyed the illustration which were very detailed and it made the study material quite enjoyable in compare to other books. What I liked most about this book is all the information was straight and to the point. No unnecessary info required! All you need to know and great pictures that also helped me relate to my job, so I know exactly what they were talking about!!!! I would definitely recommend this book to any healthcare professional.

I received this book very quickly. However, some of the pages in the book was folded, the back cover was also bent, and the DVD does not work at all. This book is supposed to be brand new and in some ways it appears to be other than what I have just mentioned. The DVD was in a sealed plastic sleeve when I first removed it. There are spots under the DVD that will not come off and I even tried cleaning it with a lens cloth, to no avail.
The information in the book itself is great and quite useful. I am looking forward to taking this class soon but wish I could have integrated the DVD in my studies. If they could just replace the defective DVD that was included in my book, I would be a happy customer.

Clear and To The Point

The right book. The right information. The right price. Clearly presented with regular testing to reinforce learning. And, a DVD to demonstrate procedures and machines with which you may not be familiar. For me, it was a very good review of practices I have been performing for the last 40 years with a few new little technological twists. The basics of life, however, haven’t changed since time began: that baby has got to breathe.

Excellent book that goes into the backround physiology of the newborn and why the resuscitation flowchart is what it is. Great resource for a topic that often gets underlooked.

It was cheating. I didn’t get the CD along with the text book ,and I paid the whole money too.i like the text book though if can make the lessons some what shorter than now ,will feel like easy to study through
and the paper quality is not the best. Pocket charts are not included

Some papers were stuck together, and the paper quality is not the best.

Otherwise, it is enough for study, and colorful printing is good.
