This is a general text on cardiology that does not go into any significant depth on any of its topics. I would recommend this only to those who are just starting out in medicine (in med school, nursing school, PA school) and not for those already in clinical practice. I find it too basic and was hoping for a text that would explore more about pathophysiology and treatment strategies. It is a nice picture book, but that would not justify its cost to me.

If you like netter-style drawings, you know what to expect. Other than that, I found it a bit superficial. Visual learners will probably get a lot more from it than i did.

This book is average, has good pictures, but is more basic and aimed for non-cardiologists. Would not use it for a board review or as a primary cardiology book.

The illustrator is gifted – Jazmin really looks alive. You look at her being despondent, or angry, or jubilant, and you can feel what she’s feeling. There’s an energy in these pictures that perfectly matches the sound pictures created with the text – the bang boom CRASH of the thunder, and later, of Jazmin’s marching the rain out of the street (even the weeds came out!) so she can have her parade after all. Any library would be enriched by this book.

Little ones will love the read-aloud sound effects, and the illustrations are nothing short of dazzling! I think this is destined to become a favorite, although probably not a choice for bedtime. LOL

A beautifully illustrated book full of sounds, I could hear Jazmin as she roared with the thunder and stomped with the rain. My kiddo is no stranger to doing a little puddle jumping himself, this was the perfect book to read on a rainy night.
