MUST HAVE for NURSING!!

I have the large textbook and was recommended to buy the pocket size edition. I appreciated the large version, so it made sense. Now having it in clinical placements, it is invaluable and great for studying on down time. If you are in any healthcare field, I recommend it, but for nursing students, you 100% should invest money in this book!

I remember using the big old version of this book a while back during med school. I recently bought the ‘pocket’ version so I could take it with me around the hospital during my internship rotations. Information is useful and quick access!

I wish I had purchased this book while in the earlier part of nursing school. Makes assessment of the patient easier. I feel more confident practicing and teaching my students. Highly recommend!

This is the best pocket reference available for anyone who sees pediatric patients-from prenatal out to 21 years of age.
The booklet is set up with all developmental expectations for each well-child visit, examination guidelines and family, social, safety and nutritional points for each age.
The appendix gives tooth charts for primary and permanent teeth, Tanner Stages for boys and girls, and Developmental Milestones for each age.

This is not a good educational material! With the small pocket size, you would think the editors would not reprint the same directions, such as to use the car seat for every well-visit. The assumption should be that people who went through enough school to practice in pediatrics, can figure out that the car seat should be used for small children, or maybe they can just read about it once and not on every page with every well-visit. Also, it cannot be used as a reference for a lot of thing because instead of listing tables and schedules, this books provides web addresses, where this information can be found.

good for what it is. I though it would be useful for a med student , but it wasnt.
I was looking for an easy handbook to be able to ask Questions for each age , but it didint have that ability. too much irrelevant info

Great pocket edition of an essential pediatric reference book. It has excellent reference tables and everything you need to know and ask parents/children organized by age, including vaccination schedules. A must have for practitioners.
