I had the Japanese edition on my wishlist for the longest time and I certainly am glad I waited as I am more confident in my english. beyond the hand with mini goat hooves instead of finger nails which look pretty cursed (don’t worry, the other 3 goat hand designs are cute), I, as an intermediate artist found this to be genuinely helpful.

Certainly, this is not a book for beginners (assuming you’re actually going to use it, buying it for the pretty art is still well worth it) and it focuses more on how to structure your characters and provide examples of how their anatomy could look in a style that is relevant to what is out there on the market, say Brand New Animal or Beastars.

At the price, I would easily recommend this to my friends, whereas with the japanese edition with the $30 price tag, here in the west, fell a tad high for me.

I knew this book would be chock-full of information even before I could read it in English. Now that there’s a translation, it turns out I was right! This book is great at discussing ALL of the aspects of designing a furry character. They even go into various species, and talk about their possible bone structures and things like that. I will, however, state that this book is not for beginners, and doesn’t teach you basic how-to-draw stuff. It’s really for artists who have some experience under their belt. Still, a beginner could still glean some useful information from this book, so why not give it a read anyway? I like this book a lot!

THIS BOOK IS PRETTY GREAT. It’s the perfect addition to my collection of How To Draw books! This has to be the Anthro book out right now! The variety is 🔥 and you should definitely get it if you want to learn how to draw these kinds of characters 🤩 it’s not too complicated and not to vague to follow. I hope we get more great content like this in the future.

I did not give this more stars because it does not just have illustrations of regular animals in it! It has some really creepy kind of evil looking illustrations and it also! Even though the ones of the animals dressed in clothes are absolutely excellent in every way! It’s just kind of weird in other ways! Not for everyone’s taste! And does not show that on the cover! So only one star for this product. Bad advertising. Misleading!

I was pretty disappointed to be honest. It’s not the worst thing ever but the characters in this book were just uninspiring. I already know how to draw, just needed some references. Will it teach you? Maybe, but the character models are just unappealing for me. The art style doesn’t really suit the style I’m going for and doesn’t really show references for clothing either. Not a whole lot of dynamics poses, almost every character shows the same similar pose and the body build are just weird in my opinion. I would recommend the draw furries books by Impact.

There’s a giant, dead fly embossing my cover of the book. I had to look online to see if this was actually part of the book design or genuinely what someone thought was appropriate to ship. It looks like the poor bug was caught in the print rolling process. He has a layer of film encasing his guts. He’s perfectly squashed, smeared, and preserved. How someone thought this was okay to send is beyond me. Pretty disgusting.

Leider nicht für Anfänger geeignet und ich wünschte es hätte auch mehr Illustrationen von den weiblichen Charakteren gegeben. Die männlichen Charakter werden dafür sehr gut erklärt. Ein paar Emotionen und unterschiedliche Gattung werden auch aufgezeigt.

Bought this for my granddaughter she can’t put it down the instructions and illustrations are great she has found it very helpful for improving her drawings of furries. The book came a day ahead of schedule as well
