It was okay. It kind of read like a tella-novella. Lots of drama. There was very little world building and the ending just underlined the melodrama. I especially didn’t like the female. She was weak in character. She came across as a teen desperate to fit in and giving in to peer pressure and then so, so blindly let herself be seduced and distracted with that same desperation that allowed her to completely ignore getting to know a single thing about the H. He was an abusive prick, got on my nerves with the many, many “darlings” …like he was a sixty year old man instead of 26 and then, I thought I was going to start throwing my kindle around and growling if I had to read about another giggle coming from this girl. Was she incapable of just laughing or a hearty chuckle? Geez, what a bubble head. There was also the fact that there was a sex scene with another woman after he met her and decided he wanted her. Come on, that’s just cliche. The plot was a little predictable and was allllmost phenomenal had the characters been a little more well rounded. Wendy did evolve a bit, but her evolution was sudden and at the end. The author tried to make it seem as if she had before the end, but she’d still shrink away and lose her confidence if there was conflict. This was an okay book, but not good enough for me to read another.

First let me start by saying I FLOVE THIS COVER!!!!
This book is a start of the never after series and let me tell you it is an awesome one! I love when “villains” get their HEA. There’s just a few things that kept me from giving the five stars

Wendy or h is 20 years old, and the daughter of a wealthy business man. Wanting more live craving attention. She has little to no experience in the sexual realm of a relationship but gives her V within days of meeting our H hook. I wish there was a little bit more building there. Another inconsistency I read was how accurate she was with a pewpew not once but twice, just seems a little far fetched for someone who has never been mentioned to have any experience with pewpews. And finally the last thing that kept me from giving the finally star was how Hook could not connect the dots. I was literally screaming “BRO WHAT ARE YOU DOING THATS YOUR TRAITOR!!” Well few but still, it made me feel like someone who boasted of being so smart…wasn’t and ruined it a little bit for me. Besides that it was a fun quick read

I could not get past the repetitive words and phrases, used in every freaking paragraph, ex: heart clenching, stomach clenching, hardons, blood and gore.
wtf!
This book is as if a psychotic teenager wrote it.
What a disappointment!

Was it peer reviewed, or even reviewed by the author, at all? It felt like things were thrown into the plot then never developed. From the main character who falls and never acknowledges it to the mid-booo betrayal the main character suddenly just forgives. And don’t get me started on the ending with surprise relatives popping up :/ . Was not a fun ride.

YEEES! I’ve been so excited for this book and it DID NOT disappoint. James had me ✨hooked✨ from the very beginning. Wendy is an innocent character who grows so much through the book and finally learns to stand up for herself. I loved everything about this book. Both main characters had amazing character development. The spice was so great. The twists were very unexpected. The ending was absolutely perfect. Finding the little pieces that related to the original Peter Pan were like finding little treasures throughout the story. Overall, highly recommend reading this
