In this comprehensive guide for practitioners and those concerned with thyroid health, Marianne Teitelbaum, D.C., integrates the ancient medicine of Ayurveda with modern scientific findings to address the growing epidemic of thyroid disease.

Revealing how the thyroid is the victim of many factors that conspire to create ill health–and how many cases of thyroid disease go undiagnosed–Teitelbaum focuses not only on treating thyroid problems and symptoms but also on diagnosing them at their earliest, most reversible stages. She outlines the basic principles of Ayurveda, including pulse diagnosis, a key tool for early detection, and explains the successful treatment protocols she has developed over more than 30 years of Ayurvedic practice. She details the underlying reasons for thyroid malfunction, such as inflammation, malnutrition, and toxins, and how the thyroid is connected with the health of the rest of body, including the liver and gall bladder. She explores the Ayurvedic treatment of thyroid-related conditions, such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, hypothyroidism, and hyperthyroidism, offering guidance on the targeted use of herbs, specific dietary recommendations, proper detoxification, and Ayurvedic recipes. She also includes treatments and remedies for common symptoms of thyroid disease, including insomnia, depression, fatigue, and osteoporosis, as well as for luxurious hair growth and weight loss.

Based on the treatment of thousands of patients, this book Healing the Thyroid with Ayurveda PDF also shares success stories of thyroid healing and the scientific studies that support the author’s Ayurvedic thyroid protocols. Offering an easy-to-follow yet comprehensive guide, Teitelbaum shows that optimum thyroid health as well as overall health are within everyone’s reach

“Based on her 30 years of practice, Chiropractor Teitelbaum offers successful protocols to treat symptoms associated with the thyroid, such as insomnia, depression, fatigue, osteoporosis, and hair, and weight loss. The references list many scientific citations, but rather than focus on the studies, such as how ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) modulates the thyroid. The goal is general good health achieved through balancing the three Ayurvedic doshas, or constitutions. She also delves into what causes thyroid problems and how to avoid them in the first place. It is admirable and very helpful to the herb world to write these unique book that tackles such a specific condition, especially one that has relatively few natural treatments!” ― Kathi Keville, American Herb Association Quarterly Director

Foods to avoid are tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant, peppers, garlic, onions, vinegar, most nuts and seeds unless you soak them overnight, red meat, pork, mushrooms, winter squash, hard cheese, soy products, most beans except for lentils and dahl, nut butters, tahini, cold dairy products, and much much more. All vegetables and fruits should be cooked, whole raw grass-fed organic milk should be boiled and then drank warm daily (ew). If you can’t drink cow milk, drink goat milk (ew), or make homemade almond milk.- I have found Ayurveda interesting due to its emphasis on knowing your body’s energies and that everyone needs to eat differently according to those energies, but this book Healing the Thyroid with Ayurveda PDF doesn’t seem to reflect that. Most of the herbs mentioned are uncommon. I was very disappointed-

I would like to thank Inner Traditions for providing me with a free – temporary – electronic ARC of this book Healing the Thyroid with Ayurveda PDF, via Netgalley. Although I required their approval, the decision to read this book is my choice and any reviews given are obligation free.

Now, one of the banes of my life in the past three years is my slow and scary weight gain, constant lethargy, tiredness and all sorts of other “mild” health issues that no one can seem to find a cause for. I’ve given up being poked and prodded by the mainstream medical profession as they keep saying they can’t find anything wrong with me. I dealt with this as a teen with chronic fatigue and am damned if I am going to go through it again… so I have been reading up on the non-mainstream medical practices. I chose to read ‘Healing the Thyroid with Ayurveda’ for two reasons – firstly, time and again people who know my symptoms have told me to get my thyroid check, only for the generic GP based blood tests to show no issue and therefore they refuse to take it any further. Secondly, I have been drawn to a lot of the principals of Ayurveda as a holistic healing method for some years. And so, reviewing this book Healing the Thyroid with Ayurveda PDF was killing two birds with one stone. 😀

As with most things in my life, I don’t agree 100% with Ayurveda – from what I learned from ‘Healing the Thyroid with Ayurveda’ – but the greater percentage of the book Healing the Thyroid with Ayurveda PDF really did ring true with me that I have actually pre-ordered a paper copy of it and can’t wait for it to arrive just after my birthday.

Being someone who strongly believes in healing the root cause of illness through better diet, mindset, and environment, rather than medication, supplements and artificial interventions – I really felt connected to this book. Yes, I would have liked a little more on the cookery side… But you all know I am a cook book Healing the Thyroid with Ayurveda PDF addict and so can never be satisfied. 😉

But I have been so inspired by what I’ve read in ‘Healing the Thyroid with Ayurveda’ that I wanted to take it further, own the book Healing the Thyroid with Ayurveda PDF, work through it all as shown and maybe even find a local Ayurveda clinic to help me discover my true dosha.

I will freely admit here and now that not everyone is going to enjoy this book Healing the Thyroid with Ayurveda PDF and may even scoff at its overly technical “hippy dippy” nature. But Ayurveda has been around for centuries, nay millennia, and in all that time has been proven to help with better health. Whether it be due to the mindset, the environment it helps us build, or the fact it encourages better, whole food, healthy eating – I can’t say. But I can say I found ‘Healing the Thyroid through Ayurveda’ a very interesting read. Though will state here and now that it’s not brainwashed me into ignoring all Western medicine. I am still a daughter of science and logic… but I am also still a creative hippy wanting to learn about anything and everything and putting to use the parts that ring true to me. In other words, don’t worry folks, I’m still taking my Zoloft and not about to feel the need to go on an angry murder spree, or run naked through the local park…. Well, no more than I would have before reading this book. 😉

Book nerd side of things, its layout was clear and easy to follow – will be a lot nicer once I see it in the paper format it was truly intended to be. No major copy editing clangers either.

Would I recommend this book Healing the Thyroid with Ayurveda PDF to others?

Yes I would… but only to those with an open mind and interest in alternative medicines and their linked lifestyles. There is no point reading this book Healing the Thyroid with Ayurveda PDF if you strongly feel anything not endorsed by the FDA, TGA or whoever is a bunch of hokum.

Those looking to seek wholefood, supplement free treatments for known Thyroid issues, or those like me just wanting a non-invasive way of giving your thyroid a health check, will find this book interesting – and hopefully helpful too.

Would I buy this book Healing the Thyroid with Ayurveda PDF for myself?

Yes I would, yes I have, and I am looking forward to getting it as a personal birthday present from Me to Me. 😉

In summary: An interesting looking into the ancient practice of Ayurveda and how it can be used to help heal your thyroid.

This book is well-researched. Teitelbaum’s explanation of Ayurveda and the complexity of causes for thyroid dysfunction are easy to understand. She gives authentic remedies, along with well-founded cautionery instructions. I particularly appreciate her adjusting Ayurveda to address maladies that were not a concern in its time of origin, such as EMFs, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, and pollution. My family has lived an Ayurvedic lifestyle for years and this is one of the best books on the subject I have read. I hope she continues to offer more books in the future.

Dr. Teitelbaum has given a superb elucidation of the Ayurvedic approach to healing thyroid disorders, including autoimmunity, and in addition provides an extended discussion of the scientific evidence as well. As a result, she provides the best of two worlds: ancient Ayurveda and modern research. There is currently no other source that goes so greatly into depth about the Ayurvedic approach to healing the thyroid. It is a fascinating and compelling read, recommended for those who would like to understand thyroid disorders and begin a journey of healing.

Dr. Marianne Teitelbaum has succinctly assembled the essential tenents of practical and effective Ayurved, making it accessible to anyone. There are lots of threads available about Ayurved. Yet, Dr. Marianne Teitelbaum, under the expert guidance of Vaidya Ram Kant Mishra, gets to the heart and soul of Ayurved, removing the mystery, confusion, and esoteria. I disagree with anyone who finds this work superficial. I applaud Dr Teitelbaum for bringing out Ayurved that is real, practical, and down to earth.
Congratulations Dr. Marianne Teitelbaum!

Dr. Teitelbaum beautifully, succinctly, and clearly offers the gift of SV Ayurveda to the world through this book. I love how accessible of a read it is–very easy to follow and understand, whether one has had exposure to Ayurveda in any form or not. It feels like a contradiction to call this book ground-breaking because of how long this wisdom has been in existence, but that is exactly what it is–> innovative + pioneering, with the added benefit of being time-tested, which most modern approaches lack. It outlines diet, herbs, and self-care techniques to support thyroid health itself, as well as the illnesses that often accompany thyroid imbalances (though they are commonly viewed as unrelated). It has guidance on how to truly HEAL the thyroid, not just relieve symptoms. I would recommend it to anyone, regardless of thyroid illness, because it communicates the fundamentals of health + wellbeing for all.

On a personal note, I have been working with Dr. Teitelbaum for 7 months now for autoimmune disorders, and can speak to the life-giving power this lineage of Ayurveda has to offer. I had exhausted countless other modalities, including working with mainstream Ayurvedic doctors for over 6 years, only to have my condition continue to decline. This collection of ancient wisdom has not only begun to restore my health, but it has also restored my hope. May the heart + pages of this book do the same for you!

 A life changing book

I can’t describe enough what an eye opener and life saving this book is, it is small, compact and with great useful info. If you have a thyroid problem you have to have this book. I have decided to use ayurveda but you don’t have to. Give it to a friend, actually it would be useful to anyone as thyroid disease is on the rise and is becoming more common. I have Graves disease since 2016 and it has been a roller coaster of distress because I did not take action from the beginning, better later than never but earlier is better.

 A must read book

This book is a mine of useful information about the thyroid and other functioning of the body. The bibliography is extensive. The author, Marianne Teitelbaum, must have researched extensively in the writing of this book. I have high cholesterol of 6.9 and low thyroid function. I am studying this book and following the nutritional guidelines. An example of how correct this book is, I would have drastically reduced butter but the culprit with me has been cheddar cheese.
There is so much varied and wide information about all the digestive system.

Another way to look at thyroid disease. This book has a lot of interesting propositions and the occasional recipes are good too. I’ve tried a couple and they are easy to make and delicious too. Although sourcing all the ingredients could be a bit tricky.
