Their work has been featured at numerous CME conferences and published in several medical journals and newsletters. Dr. Kloss and Toxicology in a Box was even featured on AMC’s hit series Comic Book Men.

Over their careers, Kloss and Bruce hope to translate all of medicine into a series of medical education illustrations and comics. Kloss and Bruce are excited to announce that after four years of hard work the Graphic Guide to Infectious Disease is available in June 2018!

It takes a long time however and I have trouble coming up with them. This book certainly does all the work for me. I have been having trouble Learning all the different pathogens and memorizing them all. But this book makes it really easy. The format is perfect. I always think about microbiology made ridiculously simple which I love by the way and this is even better than that because it lays out everything with images for each infectious disease process. Makes it much easier to memorize and covers everything I will need to know. I’m hoping the author will cover more subject matters in the same format. Kudos!”
Sean Hancock “I have to say that I thoroughly enjoy this book. I picked it up, knowing how much I loved the authors’ previous publication of “Toxicology in a Box” – flashcards set up in the same type of format used in this book with the funny/easy to recall pictures on the front and the supporting/clarifying text on the other side. Although this book does cover a lot of relatively common bugs that are seen in society – such as hepatitis A-E (with a great review page of its own describing the different hepatitis B serum markers), various “food poisoning” microbes (e.g., campylobacterosi, E. coli, shigellosis, and salmonellosis), measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, etc. It also does a great job discussing diseases that would be necessary for someone either traveling or working in travel medicine (like I do), such as the various arboviral conditions (malaria, dengue, Zika chikungunya, yellow fever) and parasitology. I have used this book as the template for the various diseases to be covered in an infectious disease module that I developed for the PA program that I teach for. All in all, this is an excellent book! Maybe not something to gain a true understanding of infectious disease and travel medicine, but definitely a good one for basic information and test review. Highly recommend this (and the Toxicology in a Box if you are into that stuff as well!).”
Marten “I really enjoyed this book for studying in med school. It has a great format, and is well authored. The 1 page of text gives an appropriate amount of clinical details, and the 1 page graphic gives a nice highlight of the mostly useful (and likely tested) information. Being able to recall the graphics in this book and in the ‘toxicology in a box’ flashcards saved my butt on many tests questions.”
BB “Really wonderful guide for medical students or nurses because it not only teaches you about the Microbiology and Biochemical properties of the pathogens, but also gives the standardized treatments as well. Useful for review in pharmacology, virology, immunology, microbiology, Epidemiology, ID courses and for practice before Steps and rotations.”
