Amazing photos and drawings. Excellent anatomy book.
April 9, 2014

This was one of my daughter’s textbooks for her Gross Anatomy book. She is finding the photos and detail very helpful for this very undergraduate difficult course. This is a book that you would want to keep as a reference book. This, along with her anatomy and physiology books, will be useful for many years in her career as an Occupational Therapist.

Outstanding Anatomy Book for Body Therapists & Healers

If you want a good clear, easy to use anatomy book…..this is the one. It is the one I recommend to all my students….particularly if they are studying Applied Kinesiology. I also use it with students I train in Primal Movement to assist them in understanding the underlying structures we are integrating for functional use.

Great for college anatomy
July 19, 2013

I used this book and the rest of the series in my college level anatomy class. It was more than adequate for studying from with multiple angles and views of each piece of the body. There were a few of the more complicated anatomical terms not included but those were rare and didn’t inhibit my learning.

Worth every penny!

This atlas is just awesome! Much better than Netters. The drawings are very detailed and give you a great 3-D look. Also the drawings are broken down and really give you an understanding for the angle of pull muscles exert on bones. It is a great reference that you can easily and quickly find the information you need for the musculoskeletal system. I purchased this atlas on the recommendation from my clinical instructor during my orthopedic rotation in physical therapy school and I just know that I am going to wear this atlas out for the rest of my career.

Finally, the anatomy atlas I’ve been searching for.
June 20, 2010

I’m an orthopedic PA who has been looking for that one atlas that can function both as a visual aid for my patients as well as a thorough review book for those not-so-common procedures. The pictures are excellent and the layout really fits my style of browsing.

Fantastic Atlas!
March 11, 2012

It is the best anatomy atlas I have ever seen.
Compared with Atlas of Human Anatomy: with Student Consult Access, 5e (Netter Basic Science) , it is more detailed.
Compared with Sobotta – Atlas of Human Anatomy Single Volume Edition: Head, Neck, Upper Limb, Thorax, Abdomen, Pelvis, Lower Limb, 14e (Sobotta Atlas of Human Anatomy, 1 Vol) , it has a better and clearer view.

Despite the fact that this atlas is one of the series of THIME and it is more expensive than other atlas, I still recommend medical students buy all this series books.

Following are all series books,
Neck and Internal Organs (THIEME Atlas of Anatomy)
Head and Neuroanatomy (THIEME Atlas of Anatomy)

Briliant! The best anatomy textbook I have ever read!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 11, 2008

Just received this book today via 3rd party seller on . Was taken in by the reviews but was actually blown away when I opened it. I cannot express just how good the illustrations are. For instance, when reading the shoulder, the individual muscle groups are shown in different images gradually building the picture up and with many different views to aid in 3-D visualization The text is also brilliant, concise, informative and most importantly, pertinent clinical references.
I am currently studying for my FRCSOrth exams and needed a good anatomy book because all mine (all 5 of them!) were lacking in some way. This will disappoint anyone who is practicing musculoskeletal medicine.
It is not a comprehensive anatomy textbook (omits thorax, abdominal contents etc) and does not profess to be. If you are in the market for this type of anatomy textbook then I challenge you to find a better one. I showed my wife the textbook today (she is a physio) and even she took it and read it for about an hour!
My exam is next week. If only I had discovered this textbook sooner!

I find this series of anatomy books very useful in my (almost) daily studies of anatomy. I also enjoy the online Winking skull site although I’ve encounteret a few glitches with it.
