Excellent Overview of Medical Physiology

I have found this recent version of Ganong to walk a good line: not overly detailed in explanations but also not overly simplistic. It’s a great (review, usually) textbook for advanced undergraduates and graduate students. Writing is generally excellent and easy to follow. Of course, as a review text, the authors are expecting a fair amount of previous physiological knowledge. Clinical applications, although simplified, do a good job of relating the basic science to the practice of medicine.

This is the worst book I have ever come across. Its high time they stop publishing this book. The authors sole aim is to see to that NO one understands Physiology. Please read Costanzo and Guyton and probably Rhoades.

I used to used this textbook in my medical school time in 1994. Now I am a clinical doctor, and I often have a hunger for reviewing how normal organs work to understand diseases which I usually face in my clinical settings. This textbook definitely helps me understand it. This textbook also remember my good student time every time I read it. I can recommend you should use it when you want to relearn functional aspects of human body.

NB! The Kindle edition is still the 9th, not 10th one

Dear publishers,
It is “a little bit” misleading that you are putting under the hardback new (10th) edition the Kindle format of the *previous* (9th) edition. Would it be more real and honest just to leave the field “Another formats” blank? What is the purpose to hurry up, thus leading all students astray?

A medical student’s MUST-HAVE on their bookshelf

I’m a second-year medical student who does not typically read textbooks cover-to-cover. But Robbins Pathology is definitely a textbook I read through because not only is it easy to understand difficult medical concepts, but the authors throw in fun comments. It does an amazing job integrating cell biology, histology, biochemistry, and anatomy with disease pathologies. Although it is a relatively longer textbook, it provides chock full of information that pops up on multiple question banks (UWorld, Amboss, Kaplan). I plan on using this book to study for the Pathology NBME, as well as the NBME comprehensive and STEP1.

1) Perfectly arrived
2) More comprehensively placed explanation in this ed.. Included covid-19 too. Many small new topics added… After eight ed this is my next ed which i bought.
