I love Lauren Liess. Absolutely LOVE her. But…..the first thing i noticed was the paper quality: it feels like it’s printed on pulp paper. For the price of the book, I expected higher quality, similar to her other books. Either that, or there was a reason for the paper to be so thin? maybe it’s printed with recycled paper by design? I don’t know and it doesn’t say. Secondly, I’ve seen many of the images elsewhere. I love her aesthetic but was wanting more of it, not a repeat of previous projects. If this is the first book you’ve purchased then by all means keep it. But I am returning it and staying with the other 2. Its a shame b/c I was super excited about this one. I still love her, just not this particular book.

I was looking forward to this book and it does not disappoint. Only half way thru because the text is outstanding & I don’t want to miss anything she has to say. Yes the paper isn’t as thick & glossy but at today’s cost of printing it didn’t cost $100 or more.

I don’t think I have ever had a designer explain the essence of “home” as well. It isn’t about the “style” (although her’s is wonderful!) but about everything that creates “style”. She’s quite right about creating a home in which to live not to showcase for others.

Thank you, Lauren, for opening up yourself to us! By the way 10 years ago I also purchased a book of DaVinci engravings to frame as artwork- thought it was MY Ingenuity!

Don’t just view the pictures – read her words for the heart & soul of “Feels Like HOME”.

Great talent, very poor paper quality

Very disappointed with the quality of the paper. (Remind me of old grayish newspaper) The reason why people buy paper version vs kindle is for the touch, the feel of the paper, the brightness of the pictures. In a book where half the interest is in the pictures, I’m surprised Lauren agreed to such a poor quality.
The content is very good despite many pictures already published in her first 2 books.
No doubt Lauren Liess has talent and I’ll keep following her work but can’t pass over the quality, not a book I’ll enjoy going thru many times… sorry, it’s going back.

Just got the book today and am literally in the first page , excited to dive in. This is my third book by Lauren and have loved the previous two.
Just one quick comment- the paper quality seems a bit off.

I’m so glad I preordered this book to complete my Lauren Liess trilogy. As she says, this book is more of her personal take on home, family, life and actually gives you a peek into the soul that goes into her interior designs. She is clearly talented and continues to expand her skills as well as the concepts she brings to her spaces (plus I love that she and her husband and adorable kids make family a priority too). The photography is stunning as well! So glad I added this book to my home collection! Buy it…you won’t be sorry (buy all 3 of her books if you don’t yet own them).

This is a lovely book. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because there are many pictures that were also in her past books, but I still loved it. Lauren Liess is definitely my style muse and her books are a mixture of therapy and style inspiration. A past reviewer mentioned not liking the paper. The paper is thinner and matte. I believe her previous books had thicker paper and a gloss finish. This change didn’t bother me.

A book about design that reads like a story.

Really enjoyed reading this book. I love design books but sometimes they can get really technical or boring because Ive read the same techniques many times before. This book is more about making you think about how you want to live in your home and what makes it special to you. Reading the authors story of decorating her own homes and how much each experience ment to her really kept my interest as well as taught me my home doesn’t have to look like just whats on trend at the moment.

I have a stack of design books and this book is by far my favorite. The design elements are beautiful, calming and timeless, but what makes this book so special is the warmth and character of the message. Contentment. Lauren Liess’s gentle message is to design around your needs, around your family’s needs. And be patient with the process. I highly recommend this book.

Very disappointed that this book has warped pages and damaged at the back. I purchased as a gift but am not able to give as a gift in this condition.
