Attributes of Emerging Infections 10 PDF

Incidences such as the 2014 Ebola epidemic in West Africa and the 2015 appearance of Zika in Brazil provide dramatic evidence of the continued ability of microbes to emerge, spread, adapt, and threaten global health. The challenge facing infectious disease specialists and public health professionals is to improve and find new diagnostic, therapeutic, and prevention strategies.Emerging Infections 10 PDF

The editors of the 10th installment of the Emerging Infections series have compiled the perspectives of leading infectious disease experts into 22 chapters that provide important updates on a broad range of emerging and reemerging bacterial, viral, parasitic, and fungal infectious diseases in the United States and globally. In addition to focusing on MERS, Ebola virus disease, chikungunya, and Zika virus disease, Emerging Infections 10 explores the global threat of antimicrobial resistance in reviews on carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae, multiply-resistant gonococcal infections, non-typhoidal Salmonella infections, and artemisinin-resistant Plasmodium falciparum malaria. Topics include both recently- and long-recognized diseases that pose challenges for the clinical, laboratory, research, public health, and animal health communities.

Emerging Infections 10 presents new and emerging strategies to prevent, control, and eradicate infectious diseases and guides readers to the primary literature where they can explore individual topics in greater depth. This book is a valuable reference for professionals in microbiology, epidemiology, public health, and clinical and veterinary medicine.

he loved it immediately
March 7, 2016

When I read this to my 3 1/2 year old grandson a few weeks ago, he loved it immediately. I think he said, “I want to hear that again!” 11 times and of course I obliged.
I supplement the story by explaining some of what is going on….asking Gabe what the facial expressions were telling him…what the little tornado over the heads of the characters mean. We talked about what each picture was telling us about what was going on. I also alter my voice for each character and raise the volume accordingly! I hadn’t read it to him in several weeks. When I arrived to babysit for him last evening he was wired. I saw the book and picked it up. He came right over and sat quietly next to me as I read it and once more I heard, “Again!”

This is adorable especially when me and my 7 year old play out the dialogue for my 3 year old. Not sure a 3 year old would understand why it’s so comical but my 7 year old does. Wasn’t happy that the cover came dirty but wasn’t about to deal with exchanging it.

Great teaching book

Great book! In a simple, understandable way, it teaches about how each person’s perspective changes how they see things. It helps young kids understand that not everyone sees/thinks about things the same as they do. The illustrations are quite cute and clearly illustrate the story. Most of the words are simple, so this is the first non-homework related book my kindergartener has read to me himself!

A win for my 3 & 5 year old!

Because of the purchase price we first checked these books out at the library. The kids were instantly fascinated. My kiddos love the illustration in these stories and I read them with funny voices. We have the whole collection so far and I’ll continue to purchase them. They’re simple and a little short but my kids laugh so hard. Big hit for us.

Simple story with cute illustrations
August 5, 2017

My daughter loved Anna Kang’s other book ” You are (not) small” so I bought her this one pretty soon after, a lot of it having to do with the cute bears drawn by Chris Weyant. It is a simple story of sharing In situations that a toddler in daycare can relate to. What I really like about it is how at the end, the two bears apologize for their behavior and go from to play together which teaches graciousness and forgiveness.
