ER Nurses
October 15, 2021

The doctors seem to get all the press, but authors James Patterson and Matt Eversmann shine the spotlight on the nurses who, in telling their stories, display great strength, courage, dedication and compassion to get through a shift. Many times, I was moved to tears of gratitude for these angels at the bedside.

‘Thank you’ is not enough to repay the debt we owe them, but it’s all I have. Thank you for your service.

Five stars, highly recommended.

Not worth the money
October 16, 2021

First of all the title is not accurate as this is not about current day ER nurses. Many are retired, some are pediatric, some Psych, others military, and most ICU. If your’e a nurse I doubt if you’d find anything particularly interesting or new or inspirational. Maybe this would be a book for people thinking about nursing to read as it might inspire them or make them decide nursing is not for them. Quite disappointing.

Er nurses

Such an inspiring book. It was very hard to put down. It was especially interesting to me because my daughter in law is a critical care nurse and I’ve seen how involved she becomes in caring for her patients.

I could relate to every single story
October 17, 2021

If you ever wanted your non-healthcare family member to get a better understanding of what your life is like as an ER nurse, this is the book to give them. Mind you, it’s the ER, so some of the stories are traumatizing—but that’s also my point when it comes to helping family understand exactly what we go through.

I’ve been EMS and ED for many years, so I have seen A LOT and could connected with every single story. I laughed…I cried…I nodded in agreement. Read it, it won’t disappoint you.

Moving Stories from Nurses
October 17, 2021

I read a lot of true medical story books. This one I really liked because it made you feel in away like you were there with these nurses. The stories that each nurse chose to tell touched me in different ways. Some I cried and some I laughed. I am chronically ill for years with many hospital stays. I meant some nurse’s who I will always be very grateful to. I liked how this book was written. Each chapter is a different nurse’s story with a little background on their life as well. I read this book in two days. I wish it was longer. You won’t be disappointed if you decide to buy this book. It’s worth every penny.

Doesn’t even begin to reflect an ER nurse
October 17, 2021

Let me start by saying I love James Patterson and have read most all of his books. This book begins with stories about nurses and pts in the ICU and Medsurg. When it does move into ER nurse stories there is no resemblance to any ER nurse story I have ever heard or shared. I wasn’t able to finish the book, it’s nothing that I find interesting after my 15 years ER experience. Very disappointing.
