I knew I needed to lose weight, as my blood test at my physical showed elevated levels of “bad” things. I’m losing about 2 lbs/week. I thought the fasting days would be difficult, and sometimes they are, but I feel so “cleaned out” afterwards! What I love most about the book are the recipes! Everything I have made has turned out so yummy. The recipes are easy to follow, easy to adapt, easy to prepare, and good enough for company. My husband has even lost weight from our better eating habits.
I have no more cravings, and have cut my alcohol consumption to practically nothing. I thought I was eating well, but this showed me where I could improve. I have more energy, I’m more alert, and love how I look. I’m wearing clothes that haven’t fit in months. Nothing I did before this ever seemed to work, even going gluten-free. I’m happy that I found something sustainable. We travel a lot, and now I won’t gain so much weight. When I reach my desired weight, I might not do the fasting days, I’ll have to see. I’m able to have one glass of wine with dinner, and that satisfies me. We used to go through a bottle of wine every night, and that was adding up. I started making my own bone broth, which is easy. The trick is to use vinegar and let the concoction simmer all day (I use a slow cooker). That way, the gelatin is released, and that is what keeps me fuller on the fast days. I drink a cup every 2 hours, and have a regular dinner. And my skin looks fabulous. KK “I am on this 21-day bone broth diet. I have already lost 4 pounds in 4 days. However, I didn’t go nuts before I started and I made sure I am not doing the fast on difficult/stressful days where I would want to cheat or eat or get ‘hangry’. So far so good. This is basically the same thing you’ve read in many other books. But I like the idea of drinking/sipping the broth. I add a tsp of Frank’s hot sauce to it for added flavor. I didn’t start the fast day until the 4th day. So far it is going well. When I am hungry I drink the broth or water. It seems to be filling. The recipes are pretty easy too so far and similar to what I’ve done in the past. I would recommend trying it and make sure your family is supporting you. Eat your food when they eat. So you aren’t hungry smelling their food. They eat the same protein as me, just different sides. So it hasn’t been too bad to prep for the family.”

    I am unable to do a fast, even a mini as I have no pituitary gland (surgically removed
    due to a brain tumor) so you magic leaves me out but I will tell you this, your take
    on cortisol left out much of what happened to me as the tumor pressured the pituitary
    to make more and more
