Fine for information, but you don’t really need this for step 3- –I advise doing as many questions as possible, you don’t need to read anything really. Answers to the test itself are not easy to take from material in books like this, it’s more about judgement and management and less about information, if that makes sense

there are other better books that can prepare you for step 3, you will lack of material here, and books like master the boards of crush CCS by Conrad fisher have the same even more info, don’t spend twice.

I don’t think it’s a bad book. It’s just not written for a cardiology, crit care, CT surgery fellow. I suspect most residents will find this too basic.

One of the best introductory books on ECMO! It’s easy to read and provides a thorough coverage of the most common issues experienced at the bedside. I strongly recommend it to residents and critical care fellows taking care of these challenging patients in the ICU.

This slim volume gives a clear overview of the topic. The essential elements are addressed. Important points are highlighted and the references are more than adequate. All involved in use of this technique would benefit from reading this book.

There have been couple of books discussing the ECMO issues more deeply (Gravlee, Kormos & Miller, Sangalli or even ELSO “Red Book”), but none of them provides such a brief and clear overview of the modalities and their management as this publications which is in line with other Cambridge University Press medical publications. It should be the first choice especially for those who are looking for fast review, but its slim format makes it very portable and thus attractive for advanced practitioners as well.
